ParconMagazine #1, 2016nCollettivo Synap(see)npublished by L'ArtierennIf this is a parknBy Steve BissonnnThe project “Park” by the collective Synapsee was born with the precise aim to investigate the definition of Park itself. Italian parks are a hodgepodge of territories, ecosystems, landscapes rather diverse. The definitions that the concept of park includes are quite diverse as well: national parks, regional parks, reserves, swamplands, oasis, networks and protected areas. It is a collective imagination as rich as complex, which extends throughout the whole peninsula from the North to the South. It is just not an environment but people, inhabitants, touring centres, educational centres, schools, universities, rights and institutions: a flood of expectations and perspectives not always coherent. Since summer 2014, our collective decided to investigate this complexity choosing as a focus the paradigm of the limits. Where does a park begin and end? If we look at a park it is clear that its relationships with the surrounding territory do not terminate within the administrative limits. In a way the future or health of a park depend on what happens both inside and outside it.nnCollettivo Synap(see)nAndrea BuzzichellinEmanuela De LucanPaola FiorininAntonella MonzoninStefano ParrininGiovanni Presutti Less
