A tsunami watch was placed in effect for Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama and Costa Rica.nnAccording to the USGS, the earthquake struck 62 miles from Iquique, Chile. A tsunami was generated from the quake, sea level readings suggest. One report found that a 6.9-foot tsunami struck off Iquique.nnEvacuations have been ordered for coastal areas, and there are no immediate reports of damage or injuries, the Associated Press reports.nnA tsunami bulletin warned: "An earthquake of this size has the potential to generate a destructive tsunami that can strike coastlines near the epicenter within minutes and more distant coastlines within hours."
