Super Mario 3D Land (スーパーマリオ3Dランド) is a platform game in the Super Mario series developed by Nintendo EAD Tokyo with assistance from Brownie Brown for the Nintendo 3DS. This is the first Mario game to be released for Nintendo 3DS. The game was first released in Japan on November 3, 2011, and in North America, Europe, and Australia during the same month. It was revealed at Nintendo's Keynote Conference during the 2011 Game Developers Conference held in San Francisco. Directed by Koichi Hayashida, the game brings the use of stereoscopic 3D to the Mario gaming franchise. A sequel, titled Super Mario 3D World, was released for the Wii U in 2013.[5] Super Mario 3D Land is unique from other games in the Mario series, as it combines elements from both traditional 2D Mario side-scrolling games and modern free-roaming 3D Mario games. It also introduces new elements into the series, including new power-ups and gameplay mechanics. The main story is similar to previous Super Mario titles, centering on Mario's efforts to rescue Princess Peach, who has been kidnapped by Bowser, utilizing the aid of the Tanooki Suit amongst other power-ups. The game consists of 96 distinct levels allotted among the 16 worlds. The game was released to critical acclaim, with gaming critics praising the amount of creativity and technical design presented within the game, though the utilization of 3D into the gameplay was met with a more polarizing reception. The game was a commercial success, and has sold 8.29 million copies worldwide as of March 31, 2013, making it the current best-selling game for the 3DS.[6] It was also the first 3DS game to sell over 5 million copies Less

New Super Mario Bros. (New スーパーマリオブラザーズ Nyū Sūpā Mario Burazāzu?) is a 2006 side-scrolling platform video game published and developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld game console. The game was released in North America and Japan in May 2006 and in Australia and Europe in June 2006. It is the first original side-scrolling platform game starring Mario since Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins in 1992, and the first game to be a part of the main Super Mario series of video games since Super Mario Sunshine in 2002. The game's plot is similar to those of other side-scrolling Mario games. New Super Mario Bros. follows Mario as he fights his way through Bowser's henchmen to rescue Princess Peach. Mario has access to several power-ups that help him complete his quest, including the Super Mushroom, the Fire Flower, and the Starman, each giving him unique abilities. While traveling through eight worlds with a total of 80 levels, Mario must defeat Bowser Jr. and Bowser before finally saving Princess Peach. Reviews of the game were very favorable. Praise focused on improvements made to the Mario franchise, while criticism targeted the game's simplicity, and similarity to previous games. New Super Mario Bros. received several honors, including Game of the Month awards from Game Informer and Electronic Gaming Monthly, and Editors' Choice Awards from IGN and GameSpot. In Japan, the game broke the record for the best-selling debut for a Nintendo DS game. Overall, the game has sold 30.38 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling game for the DS Less

Super Mario 3D World review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Super Mario 3D World for the Nintendo Wii U developed and published by Nintendo. If you’ve always wondered if Mario would be motivated to save someone other than a beautiful woman, Super Mario 3D World has the answer. When tiny fairies called Sprixies are mysteriously kidnapped by Bowser, Mario and friends spring into action. And yes, his friends are coming along—like Super Mario Bros. 2, there are several playable characters. Each level can be played with either Mario, Luigi, Toad or Princess Peach, and each character has their own attributes. Super Mario 3D World brings back lots of past Mario-isms, but it also rethinks the Super Mario series by combining the previously separate 2D and 3D series into one. This isn’t a 2D or a 3D game—it’s a little bit of both. The game also includes new power-ups, including the headlining Cat Suit and the clever Double Cherry, which clones Mario with every one collected. Super Mario 3D World is one of the most graphically polished games Nintendo has ever made, as well as one of their most fun. Super Mario 3D World is a single and local multiplayer game. This video review features video gameplay footage of Super Mario 3D World for the Nintendo Wii U and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek. Less

"Aboveground BGM"), isna musical theme originally heard in the first stage of the Nintendo Entertainment System video game Super Mario Bros. It was one of six themes composed for Super Mario Bros by acclaimed Mario and The Legend of Zelda series composer Koji Kondo, who found it to be the game's most difficult track to compose. The theme has a calypso rhythm and usually receives a corresponding orchestration in games whose sound synthesizers can imitate steel drums. Less
