Seattle police have just released never before seen photographs taken at the scene of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's death in 1994.The images, taken from rolls of film that were left undeveloped until now, show among other things a hat, a wallet, a packet of American Spirit cigarettes, a lighter, and a cigar box. In one photograph, the cigar box is left open and can be seen to contain syringes and a spoon, implements for preparing and consuming heroin.Police said the film was re-examined in anticipation of the 20th anniversary of the musician's death, to dispel rumors of foul play kept alive by conspiracy theorists. Cobain, considered one of the greatest musical artists of his time, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head and shot gun across his chest in his home on April 8, 1994. A suicide note was discovered near the body and police ruled the death a suicide.Police said the images offer no new information and that Cobain's death will not be reinvestigated.Cobain, who was married to rock singer Courtney Love and had a young daughter at the time, was known to have struggled with drug use and depression before his death. Mysore Masala Dosa, which is originally served in Bangalore and Mysore restaurants, is one of Mumbai's most popular street food snacks, usually served with Sambhar and Coconut Chutney Chef Ruchi Bharani teaches you the quick, easy way to make this crispy dosa. Ingredients: Dosa batter 2 deseeded & finely chopped tomatoes 1 small coarsely mashed potato 3 finely chopped green chillies 1 tbsp. sambhar masala Cheese (optional) o2 finely chopped onions 2 finely chopped capsicum Salt Butter 1 tbsp. coconut chutney Method: To make the filling: - Heat a dollop of butter. - Once the butter melts, add some curry leaves and finely chopped onions and saute till the onion becomes soft and light brown. - Add the finely chopped capsicum, deseeded and finely chopped tomatoes, green chillies, salt and sambar masala and cook this mixture till the tomatoes are nice and soft. - Add the coarsely mashed potatoes to the above ingredients and smash everything lightly. - Add coconut chutney and some coriander leaves to the ingredients and mix everything well. To make dosa: - Heat a flat pan for atleast 3-4 minutes on the flame. - Take the pan off the flame and spread the batter on the pan using a spoon in a circular motion. - Put the pan back on the flame and cook it on a high flame. - Once the batter dries out a bit, spread the butter on it. - Add a bit of the filling and mix it with little butter and then spread the filling all around the dosa. - Grate some cheese (as per choice) - Fold the dosa at the edges and flip it over. - Garnish it with some grated cheese and serve hot. Ingredients: 1 cup yellow moong daal 2-3 tbsp rice flour 1 cup chopped methi leaves salt corrianer leaves grated cottage cheese (paneer) 1 clove garlic 1 onion 1 cup boiled corn 2 green chillies 1 piece ginger 1/2 tsp sugar Method: To make the batter: - In a mixer, grind the onion, green chillies, garlic, ginger and the boiled corn. - After grinding a bit, add the soaked moong dal, a pinch of sugar and coriander leaves to the mixer bowl and grind well. - Empty the smooth batter in a bowl. - Add the rice flour, fenugreek leaves and salt to the batter and mix well. - Add little water to the batter to get the required consistency. To make dosa: - Heat the pan for a few seconds and then take it off the flame. - Take a spoonful of batter and spread it on the heated pan in a circular motion. - Then put it back on the flame on a high heat and let it cook. - Once the batter dries out a bit, thin out the edges. - Apply little ghee/oil/butter on the dosa. - Rotate the pan a bit so that it is well cooked from all the sides. - Garnish the dosa with some grated cottage cheese. - Serve the dosa with the chutney of your choice. This classic egg recipe is a crowd-pleasing party snack and it is a perfect start to a casual party. Ingredients: 3 eggs 1 tbsp mayonnaise salt and pepper to taste 2-3 tsp paprika 1 tbsp mustard 4-5 chopped olives basil leaves – chopped 1 tbsp butter Method: - Hard boil the egs for about 11-12 minutes. - Slice the eggs exactly in the middle and make 2 parts. - In a bowl, take off the yolk from all the eggs and add mayonnaise, salt, paprika, mustard, pepper, chopped olives, freshly chopped basil and the butter to it and mix all the ingredients well. - Again, add little paprika to the above yolk mixture and mix well. - Using 2 equal small sized spoons, make quenelles out of the mixture. - Place these quenelles in the white part of the eggs. - The devilled eggs are ready to be served. Preparing good and tasty breakfast is one question that crosses our mind every morning. So to bring a variety to our regular breakfast, Chef Shantanu Gupte brings you a delectable breakfast recipe. Ingredients: Poached eggs with hash browns 1 pot water (for poaching) 2 eggs brown bread tomato 1 lemon par boiled potatoes ( 4- 5) grated. Salt to taste pepper to taste butter 3 tbsp Method: To make the hash browns: - Heat the deep pan on a low flame. - Squeeze in the lemon juice. - Grate the par boiled potatoes on a dish and spread it. - Add salt and pepper to the potatoes and lightly run a fork through it. - Add a dollop of butter to the pan and let it melt. - Once it melts slightly, add the butter to the grated potatoes. - Drizzle oil on the chopping board and spread it. - Place a spherical mould or ring on the board and add the grated potato into the ring. Press it lightly using a spoon and then take off the mould. - Heat butter in the pan and add the potato hash. - Add oil to the pan and let the potatoes cook on a low heat. - Flip the potatoes once they turn crisp and brown. - The hash browns are ready to be plated. To make the poached eggs: - Once the bubbles start forming in the water, add salt to it. - Add the egg and let them poach for about 3-4 minutes. - Take a brown bread and cut out a piece using the same mould. - Add it to the pan and let it crisp up. - Once the egg starts coming to the surface of the water, take it out. - Add salt and pepper to the eggs. - Plate them on the crisped up bread. - Serve with the hash browns and roasted tomato. Ingredients: 3 tbsp custard powder 1/2 ltr milk 1 1/2 cup gulab jamun mix 3 tbsp powdered sugar Butter to fry Sugar syrup (made by mixing 1 cup sugar + 1 cup water) 1 tsp vanilla essence Strawberries and pineapple pieces for garnish 4 granola bars Method: To make the custard: - In a saucepan, add the milk and let it come to a boil. - While the milk is boiling, mix the custard powder with cold milk. - Once the milk comes to a boil, add sugar in it and give it a good stir. - While stirring, slowly add the custard milk and keep mixing to avoid any lumps. Let it boil for about 2 - 3 minutes. - Take it off the flame and place it over some ice so that it cools down quickly. - Once it cools down, add the vanilla essence to it and mix well. To make pancakes: - In a bowl, add the gulab jamun mix and add the milk to it. Mix well. - Add the powdered sugar and whisk well. - Brush a hot pan with some butter. - Spread a spoonful of the pancake batter on the pan. - Cook the pancakes on both the sides until they change the colour. - Get the pancakes off the flame and brush them with the sugar syrup. To make the dessert: - In a dessert glass, place finely chopped strawberries at the bottom. - Then add the finely chopped pineapple. - Top it up with some granola bars. - Then pour in a layer of the custard. - Cut the pancakes with a mould that fits your serving glass. - Layer the pancakes over the custard and then pour some more custard over the pancake layer. - Garnish it with finely chopped strawberries and pineapple and some granola bar. Tea-time snacks always spice up your gossip sessions. There are innumerable recipes that fall in this category but today chef Ruchi Bharani brings you an easy to make 'Cashew Onion Pakoda' which is surely a delight to have on the snacks menu! Ingredients: 1 cup gram flour 3 tbsp rice flour 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 2 green chillies - finely chopped 1 onion - thinly sliced 1/2 tsp fennel seeds 1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain seeds) coriander leaves 1/2 cup cashew nuts Salt to taste 2-3 tbsp oil 1/4 cup methi 1/4 tsp coriander cumin seed powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder curry leaves oil for frying Method: To make pakoda mix: - In a bowl, add the gram flour, rice flour, methi leaves, thinly sliced onions, cashew nuts, coriander and cumin seed powder, turmeric powder, raw mango powder (aamchur powder), salt to taste, green chillies, ginger paste and garlic paste. - For tadka, in a small bowl, heat oil. Once the oil is hot, add the coriander seeds, fennel seeds, ajwain seeds (carom seeds) and some curry leaves and add this tadka into the bowl of mix. - Stir all the ingredients of the bowl well and add very little water. - Mix all the ingredients, first using a spoon and then use your hands to mix. To make the pakoda: - Heat oil in a pan. - Apply little oil on your hands before frying the pakodas. - Take small portions of the pakoda mix and fry them in the hot oil. - Serve hot with some delicious chutney or dip. Learn how to make dry fruits barfi. What's Holi without sweets? Relish on this simple and hassle-free dry fruits barfi and brighten up the colours this Holi with your loved ones. Anushruti's dry fruits barfi is surely a guilt free indulgence for those who avoid sugar as this sweet dish is sugar-free. Ingredients: 300 gm (1 1/2 cups) dried figs 125 gm (1/2 cup packed) soft dates, chopped fine 40 gm (1/3 cup) pistachios, chopped 50 gm (1/3 cup) cashew, chopped 50 gm (1/3 cup) almonds, chopped 4 green cardamom pods, seeds powdered 1 tbsp ghee or flavourless vegetable oil Method: - Line an 8” square tin with greaseproof paper. Put in a little ghee over the paper and spread it with your hands. - Blanch the figs in hot water for 5 to 6 minutes by placing the figs in a bowl filled with hot water. Make sure that the figs are completely immersed in the water. - Drain completely and puree in a blender or food processor. - In a wok, add the ghee or oil and let the ghee melt on a medium flame. - After the ghee melts, lower the heat and add the pureed figs. - Cook on low heat for about 4 to 5 minutes by stirring continuously. - Turn off the heat and when it cools down slightly, mix in the dates, almonds, pistachios and cashews. Stir in the cardamom powder and mix well with with a spoon or with your hands. - Add this dry fruit mixture to the pan and press with a wooden spoon to make the surface even. - Let it chill in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. - Cut into squares or diamonds. Ingredients (for 8-10 cupcakes): 2 Eggs 1 Cup Castor Sugar 1 Cup Butter 1/2 tsp Strawberry Emulsion 100 gms Maida/ All Purpose Flour 1/2 tsp Baking Powder Whipped Cream for decoration Cupcake Moulds साहित्य (८-१० कपकेक्स साठी) २ अंडी १ कप पीठी साखर १ कप लोणी १/२ tsp स्त्रावबेरी अर्क (emulsion) १०० gms मैदा १/२ tsp बेकिंग पावडर मलई सजावटीसाठी कपकेक्स चे साचे Method: - In a bowl, break eggs. Then add castor sugar, butter & strawberry emulsion. Mix everything well with the help of an electric beater. - Then add baking powder & maida and again mix well. - Add a spoonful of the cake batter into the cupcake moulds. - In the meanwhile, preheat the oven for 5 mins. - Tap the moulds lightly to make sure there are no bubbles in the batter. - Then put the cupcakes to bake in the oven at 160 degrees Celsius for about 15 mins. - Take the cupcakes out and let them cool for some time. - Decorate these cupcakes with strawberry emulsion & glaze (optional). Also garnish with whipped cream. - Strawberry cupcakes are ready to serve! Check out the recipe of Chole Pulav, which is a delectable combination of chickpea and rice. Ingredients: 2 cinnamon sticks 2 cardamom pieces 2 cloves 2 onions, chopped 1 tbsp chole masala 1 tsp red chilli powder 1/2 cup chickpeas, boiled 2 potatoes, fried 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste 3 tomatoes, pureed 1 tsp amchoor powder/raw mango powder 1 cup rice, boiled 2 slit green chillies 2 onions, fried Method: - Heat ghee in a pan. - Add the cumin seeds, whole spices (cloves, cinnamon sticks and cardamom), bay leaf and the shredded onion and saute all the ingredients well. - Add the slit green chillies. - Add the tomato puree and dry it out slightly. - Add the dry spices - chole masala, raw mango powder and red chilli powder and mix well. - Add the soaked and boiled chickpeas and boiled rice. Toss them us lightly using 2 spoons. - Add the fried cubes of potato, coriander leaves and salt and toss everything well. You may add little water if you feel the need. - Cover it and let it simmer for about 2 minutes. - The pulav is ready to be plated. - Garnish it with some coriander leaves and fried onions.
