Is the TB a superhuman? An alien? Harbinger? We work in -- with farmers and trying to get women to produce food that’s marketed to the school system and through farmers’ markets and other outlets in the area. If you look at it, many of them end up owning land. Many of them are widows who own land and need to derive an income from that land. So agriculture. Now that was something I didn't want to do. I grew up on a farm and knew what that work was like and wanted to get as far away from it as I could. But I really see the value of having land and being able to use that land to create income for your household and for others, and for the community. So agriculture’s one thing—we have Women in Ag. nnWe have young people—we have a youth leadership project working primarily with young women. We have Hall of Fame where women are nominated by other women in their community for the great work that they have done. These are women who would never be recognized for the contributions that they make and we do that as part of—the young women’s leadership work, the Hall of Fame, the Women in Ag is all work we started as part of a 3-state project--- the Southern Rural Black Women’s Initiative for Economic and Social Justice. And out of that we also created a worker-owned sewing co-op. We looked at the fact that women worked in factories, factories that closed and those skills were still out there and that’s what gave us the idea of starting a worker-owned sewing coop. And those women have made some beautiful, beautiful products. nnWe also have here a racial healing project and that has been interesting work to try to conduct a racial healing project here in this area. We have a community foods project and that’s in 22 counties. We’ve done lots of work on nutrition and gardens. We’ve helped Boys and Girls Club to start gardens, we’ve helped schools to start gardens. I always think of the young boy—we were teaching them to grow collards—no cabbage and broccoli. And a young boy about 8 years old, we had farmers there working with him as well as our staff and he’s standing back looking and he said, “I don’t eat food from the earth. It has nature on it.” And um, so…we said, “where do you get your food from?” And he said “I get my food from the grocery store.” And when they started explaining to him where it comes from, he put his hands over his face and, “Stop, stop, that’s gross.” You know so, some of the work that we do, helping the young children to actually plant vegetables, helping them to harvest vegetables and helping preparing that for them to eat is some of the major work that’s been done in this area. It took him 4 years to complete a movie from a scratch where whole visual part is created only by him. nnJakub have plans and screenplays for more short animated films. One of the project also science-fiction is in early preproduction.nnMAKING OF THE MOVIEnThe first draft of the script was written 10 november 2010. Story is based upon various science fiction novels, films and video games. Its a mix of elements which director decided to be the best for science fiction genre. There was big emphasis to make hard science fiction story where physics and visual aspect of the film is close to what you might expect in reality. The story itself was most important part of whole project. Its written in a way to be very simple with an ending where everyone could create his own explanation. Film and story is designed in a way to be well understood and accepted by teenagers, young science fiction fans. nnThe preproduction of the film started with storyboarding and creating simple animatics which took a year until final edit. Then the process of 3d model and characters creation took place. Production was on hold for many months until Jakub Grygier finished contract for visual effects at Moving Picture Company. Then Jakub work 1 year and 3 months to complete animation before rendering final image. Here Pawel Gorniak took a part and created amazing score for entire animation. He also was responsible for sound design. Less
