Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Matchbox Missions: Air, Land and Sea Rescue/Emergency Response for the Game Boy Advance developed by Gravity Interactive and published by Destination Software, Inc. Matchbox Missions: Air, Land and Sea Rescue/Emergency Response is a special double-feature cartridge on the Game Boy Advance. It includes two Matchbox games—Air, Land and Sea Rescue and Emergency Response. Each one focuses on driving Matchbox vehicles. In Emergency Response, there’s a police chase going down, and you play as either the cop or the fugitive. As the cop, your job is to slam into the fugitive and prevent him from escaping. As the fugitive, it’s your job to escape! In Air, Land and Sea Rescue, players drive a variety of vehicles, including ambulances, boats and helicopters, to rescue people in danger. Some missions require collecting scattered supplies or even cleaning up a waterway. Matchbox Missions: Air, Land and Sea Rescue/Emergency Response includes single and local multiplayer play. Bo Jackson: Two Games In One review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Bo Jackson: Two Games In One review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Bo Jackson: Two Games In One for the Game Boy developed by Equilibrium and published by THQ. Before Sonic stole the crown, the fastest character in video games was Bo Jackson. If you don’t believe us, you obviously don’t know about the zig zag. And like other gaming characters, Bo got multiple games, including Bo Jackson: Two Games In One for the Game Boy. This two-pack cartridge includes two separate games—baseball and football. Baseball offers several teams and a nice interface, despite some technical limitations and dated gameplay. You have several pitches to choose from and can locate them whenever you want over the plate. Occasionally, Bo himself will offer helpful hints, as well. And in football, well, you play something that’s very similar to what football might be in a parallel dimension. It’s a simplified, almost Atari-like rendition of the gridiron, but you can draw up a custom play. Bo Jackson: Two Games In One offers single and multiplayer play. This video review features video gameplay footage of Bo Jackson: Two Games In One for the Game Boy and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek. Less

TaleSpin review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com TaleSpin review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of TaleSpin for the Game Boy developed and published by Capcom. Admittedly, the Seaduck doesn’t sound like a very impressive aircraft, but TaleSpin’s tiny yellow airplane was actually kind of groundbreaking. Even on the Game Boy. Better known as being one of Capcom’s many classic Disney games for the NES, TaleSpin was also released for the Game Boy. And like other Capcom games that made the move, much of the NES experience remains in tact. TaleSpin is a side-scrolling flight game, a departure from Capcom’s typical Disney platformers. You control Baloo as he drives his plane and fights enemies. Although, for the most part, you’re avoiding enemies—Baloo can only shoot one bullet at a time. This forces you to play the game differently than you would most side-scrolling flight games/SHMUPs. TaleSpin was also groundbreaking for allowing players to fly backward, scrolling the screen back to the left. TaleSpin is a single-player game on the Game Boy. This video review features video gameplay footage of TaleSpin for the Game Boy and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek. Less

Shrek: Hassle At The Castle review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Shrek: Hassle At The Castle review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Shrek: Hassle At The Castle for the Game Boy Advance developed by TOSE Software and published by TDK Mediactive. From the makers of The Legendary Starfy, Shrek: Hassle At The Castle gives you an angry ogre and a bunch of villagers to beat up. You do the math, donkey! This is the simplest of 2D beat ‘em ups in terms of its design, yet it also gets surprisingly difficult as the game progresses. You get to play as Shrek, Donkey and Fiona, with each level giving you different characters. Although the gameplay is mostly comprised of simple beat ‘em up action, there are also platforming sections and even some races against the clock. The game features a distinctive “big head” style, as the characters are proportioned more like bobbleheads than their actual onscreen counterparts. Shrek: Hassle At The Castle is a loose retelling of the events of the original film and is a single-player game. This video review features video gameplay footage of Shrek: Hassle At The Castle for the Game Boy Advance and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek. Less

Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of The Little Mermaid: Magic In Two Kingdoms for the Game Boy Advance developed by Gorilla Games and published by Buena Vista Games. Take a trip “unda da sea!” with Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder and all your pals from The Little Mermaid in Magic In Two Kingdoms! This Game Boy Advance game retells the story of the movie and lets players play through its most memorable scenes. There are eight minigames included, and the gameplay changes from game to game. One level might be a side-scrolling swimming level, while the next might be a rhythm game. Can you set the mood for Ariel and Eric? Can you help bring down the evil sea witch Ursula? Find out in The Little Mermaid: Magic In Two Kingdoms! You can play the minigames in order, as part of the story, or you can play them individually. The game is short, but it’s an ideal choice for very young gamers. And crustaceans. The Little Mermaid: Magic In Two Kingdoms is a single-player game. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: Tipton Caper for the Game Boy Advance developed and published by Disney Interactive Studios. Hey, if your mom wouldn’t give you ice cream, you’d break out of your room and crawl through air ducts to get what you deserve, too. Or maybe not, but either way, you can see what it’d be like in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: Tipton Caper. This Game Boy Advance game is essentially Zelda for little kids, offering a very Zelda-like adventure for fans of the popular Disney Channel series. Players control both Zack and Cody as they explore the hotel and solve puzzles. The game plays like a top-down Zelda without the combat or complexity. Most of the game is based on solving environmental puzzles, collecting keys and finding items. There are even some minor stealth elements, as well. You can switch between either boy at any time, and each one has his own unique abilities. To solve the puzzles, you’ll have to use both simultaneously! "Disney’s Magical Quest 2 Starring Mickey & Minnie review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Disney’s Magical Quest 2 Starring Mickey & Minnie review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Disney’s Magical Quest 2 Starring Mickey & Minnie for the Game Boy Advance developed and published by Capcom. Capcom dusts off one of their classic Disney games for the Game Boy Advance. Disney’s Magical Quest 2 Starring Mickey & Minnie is a portable remake of the 1994 original, released to the Super NES as The Great Circus Mystery. Playing as either Mickey or Minnie, players platform through six levels of classic 2D side-scrolling with the aid of four ability-changing suits. In fact, that’s the core element of the game’s design. Players have four suits, and once attained, they can be worn at any time. Each suit gives the player new abilities. One gives you hooks, which allows you to climb walls, while another gives you a vacuum cleaner to suck up enemies. You won’t be able to reach certain areas or defeat certain enemies without putting on the right suit, a twist that feels more Mega Man than you might expect from a Mickey Mouse game. Disney’s Magical Quest 2 Starring Mickey & Minnie offers single-player and local multiplayer play on the Game Boy Advance. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of The Proud Family for the Game Boy Advance developed by Gorilla Systems and published by Buena Vista Games. The Proud Family is based on the Disney Channel series, which was cancelled a few months after this game was released. Coincidence? You be the judge. Playing as Penny Proud, players help her with her after-school chores. Pick up litter, pick up the lost gym balls, pick up uniforms for her dad’s office—lots of picking stuff up in this game, obviously. Penny also encounters minigames along the way, which help to break up the monotony of, you know, picking things up. You can play the story mode or the minigames individually, which include making snacks at the factory and waiting on tables. A Game Boy Advance exclusive, The Proud Family offers single-player and local multiplayer play. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Trollz: Hair Affair for the Game Boy Advance developed by Powerhead Games and published by Ubisoft. One of the big wigs behind the television show once described Trollz as a combination of Winnie The Pooh, Friends and Sex and the City. If that doesn’t pique your interest, nothing will. Trollz: Hair Affair is a Game Boy Advance game featuring five minigames, each based on some aspect of a tween-age girl’s busy life. That means they involve riding a scooter, dancing in your bedroom and fixing hair knots. They have it pretty rough. Trollz: Hair Affair lets you play as Amethyst, Sapphire, Ruby and Topaz, a group of young Trollz in the world of Trollzopolis. The first thing they do in the morning is fix their hair and text their friends. If that sounds like fun, believe us—it’s only the beginning in Trollz: Hair Affair. BattleBots: Design & Destroy review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com BattleBots: Design & Destroy review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of BattleBots: Design & Destroy for the Game Boy Advance developed by Cave Barn Studios and published by Majesco. BattleBots: Design & Destroy is a follow-up to—or an improved of—an earlier Game Boy Advance game called BattleBots: Beyond The BattleBox. Due to that game’s poor reception, Majesco fixed it up and reshipped it as BattleBots: Design & Destroy. Based on the television show BattleBots, this game tasks players with creating their own fighting robot from the ground up. From the skeleton to the body and the motor to the wheels, you’re in charge of everything about your robot. There are four different weight classes to build in, and once you’re finished, you can take your robot into battle. If you’d prefer to skip straight into battle with the design element, you can also play in an arena mode and choose from 16 pre-made robots. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Mortal Kombat II for the Game Boy published by Midway. A year after Mortal Kombat debuted on the Game Boy, Midway released this vastly improved sequel. Unlike the original game, Mortal Kombat II is actually kind of playable on the Game Boy. That alone is a huge improvement. A trimmed down version of the console game, Mortal Kombat II features eight main fighters and a few surprises. The only gameplay mode is the traditional arcade mode, where players must fight each character one at a time to progress through the game. Mortal Kombat II looks and plays much better than the original, although it’s similar in terms of content. Play as Scorpion, Reptile, Liu Kang, Sub Zero and more of your favorite Mortal Kombat characters. Mortal Kombat II is a single-player game on the original Game Boy. The Movie is a simple and surprisingly difficult platformer. Playing as Arnold and a few of his friends and family members, it’s your job to prevent your neighborhood from being destroyed to make way for a shopping mall. Down with the industrialists! Hey Arnold! The Movie has many of the hallmarks of early 2D platformers, including very frustrating enemy placement and level design.
