The nurse pressed charges against him and quit her job earlier last month. nnChen, who lives in Taichung, Taiwan had been battling diabetes since when he was little. The illness had caused his retinas to detach. nnHe received eye surgery late last year, but regained minimal eyesight only. As such, he needed people's assistance even with walking. nnLast December, he went back to the hospital for a post-surgery follow-up. His 23 year-old nurse happened to be caring and nice. She helped him to his seat, and, according to the patient, blew air onto his face. It made his heart skip a beat. His friend cheered him on, telling him it was obvious the young nurse also had a thing for him.nnChen soon began his quest to win her over. He incessantly called the hospital, looking for the nurse, sometime 30 to 40 times a day. The 'persistent' man's phone call assault never relented and lasted for almost half a year. He even once claimed to be the nurse's family member, in order to get her on the phone. The nurse ran out of patience eventually and pressed charges against Chen in May. She quit her job the following month.nnWhen the police questioned Chen about his harassment, he claimed the nurse only picked up his call three to four times, adding that he never mustered enough courage to ask her out.
