On this episode of Collider TV Talk (May 23rd, 2016) Josh Macuga, David Griffin, Sinéad de Vries and Sasha Perl-Raver discuss the following:nn-Ewan McGregor joins Fargonn-Michael Lombardo exits HBOnn-Cary Fukunaga to direct Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon miniseries for HBOnn-CBS reveals Star Trek series logonn-Superhero rundownnn-Highlights and lowlightsnn-Pilot Review: PreachernnLast week Entertainment Weekly broke the story that Ewan McGregor will be the lead in the 3rd season of FX’s Anthology series Fargo. There is a twist, however; the Trainspotting and Star Wars actor will play two characters, brothers in fact, described with the first brother playing a parking lot king of Minnesota, who sees himself as an American success story; with the other brother balding and pot-bellied; the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Ray has a huge chip on his shoulder due to the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames his brother, Emmit, for his misfortunes.nnHBO announced last week that programming president Michael Lombardo will step down after being with the network for 33 years. His presence can be felt from the glory days of The Sopranos and Six Feet Under to the recent dramatic failures (outside of Game of Thrones) and development disasters of two David Fincher projects and the much maligned Westworld. Variety reported that he wasn’t pushed out, but had been discussing his exit for some time and that he might still have a development deal with the Network.nnCary Fukunaga, who directed the first season of the brilliant True Detective and brought to life the first critically acclaimed Netflix original film, The Beasts of No Nation, is in talks to direct a Napoleon miniseries for HBO. This project comes from the long time dream of legendary director Stanley Kubrick, whose family opened up his archive of notes with a original 800 plus page script about the French war monger.nnSUPERHERO RUNDOWNnnChloe Bennett, who plays Daisy formerly Skye on ABC’s Marvel’s: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., participated in a Q&A at Wizard World: Des Moines where she said that Marvel doesn't care or acknowledge their show. She mentioned how the MCU loves to pretend that everything is connected, but then they don’t even connect, discuss, or mention their show in any of the movies in the MCU.nnAt last week’s up-fronts, which we talked a lot about on last week's TV Talk, CW confirmed that next season will have their biggest DC superhero crossover event in the network’s history, thanks to Supergirl’s flight from CBS. CW teased a trailer of what the crossover could look like, and based on this season’s episodes, it’s not a shock that fans rejoiced in the possibility. The trailer also featured quite a few shots of Vixen, who took part in possibly the best episode of Arrow this season, which could be a sign of the 5th DC show at CW in a Vixen stand alone.nnCBS has released the logo for their new Star Trek series that will be airing on the new VOD platform of CBS All Access; as well as short teaser video that promises new crews, new villains, new heroes, new worlds… they forgot to promise new complaints from fans, but that’s okay.nnHIGHLIGHTS AND LOWLIGHTS - TRAILER EDITIONnnPILOT REVIEW nnTWITTER QUESTIONSnnFollow us on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/ColliderVideo nnFollow us on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/ColliderVideo nnFollow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/colliderdotcom nnFollow Josh: https://twitter.com/JoshMacuga nnFollow Sinéad: https://twitter.com/SineaddeVriesnnFollow David: https://twitter.com/griffindennFollow Sasha: https://twitter.com/sashaperlraver nnAs the online source for movies, television, breaking news, incisive content, and imminent trends, Collider Videos is more than an essential destination.nnVisit Collider: http://collider.com nnFollow them on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/ColliderNewsnnSUBSCRIBE TO THE SCHMOES YOUTUBE CHANNEL HERE: https://www.youtube.com/user/schmoesknow-- Less
