Sign the petition to persuade Hasbro to reconsider this action: www.thepetitionsite.com If you don't know yet, Hasbro very recently sent a cease and desist notice to Mane6, the developers of an MLP: FiM fan game called "MLP: Fighting is magic". Although technically this is within legal jurisdiction (assuming this was a serious project not classified under the parody section of fair use) this was a very bad business move and will no doubt drive a stake between Hasbro and their fans. Their ignorance to how a fan base works, and how it allows for material such as their show to gain recognition and generate more revenue is honestly appalling. I am genuinely worried that this might only be the beginning of a chain of take downs by Hasbro, including and not limited to any and all forms of fan art, fiction, various musical remixes, animations, renders, or any other form of creative works that use a piece of their show within them (not covered under fair use that is, which is a lot more content than you'd believe). I am also worried that this terrible business move could set some sort of precedent for future small companies who don't understand how fans and their content help revitalize and improve the overall profitability and popularity of a given creative work. I hope that Hasbro will see this petition and reconsider their ignorance towards their fans, and learn from major companies such as SEGA, Nintendo, Capcom, or pretty much any other creative work that has been own by a ... He joined the court in 1996 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton and assumed senior status on December 31, 2010. Prior to his appointment, Judge Rakoff was Chief Prosecutor of the Business and Securities Fraud Prosecutions Unit. Before serving as Chief Prosecutor, he was the Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York. He received his B.A. from Swarthmore, his M.A. in Philosophy from Oxford-England, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. nnMany people believe the financial crisis from which we are still suffering was the product, not just of mistakes and wrong guesses, but fraudulent practices and misrepresentations. Yet few if any high-level executives associated with these alleged misdeeds have been criminally prosecuted.
