I actually made this as a way to poke fun at the idea of getting cease and desist letters. At the time (October 2006) I had nothing to lose and my original intention was to call this "back to the future: the new official universal studios cartoon featuring the new Doc Brown and Marty McFly" and then I'd just sit back and wait for a letter from their lawyers to arrive. That's actually why it's so filthy. I was just looking to "troll" a big studio.n Then, as I began editing the radio play and boarding it, the two characters ended up becoming something different than just a bad impression of Doc and Marty from BTTF. They slowly became two of my favorite characters that I've ever voiced. I backed down on the cease and desist bait and changed the spelling of their names and whatever else I could still change. I mean, it's still ultimately a back to the future joke/ (parody?), but to me all these years later, these two characters have become something of their own. You'll see as you go through this website that these voices pop up in several of my failed pilots.   Less

Created by Brandon Polanco, writer & director of the short film, the short stars Bryan Cranston from AMC's Breaking Bad. The short was created in 2012 during the production of the film Cold Comes The Night. nnThe short film was made due to a contest created by Mr. Cranston during Hurricane Sandy. An opportunity was offered to the production assistants to create a script, and if he liked the story, he would then star in the project. Mr. Polanco's script was chosen, and three hours later he began production on the project. His fellow production assistants Chaz Rose & Spenser Granese jumped on board to help co-star and co-produce the film. nnThe very talented Lela Edgar, who was an actress in the right place at the right time, was immediately cast to play opposite Mr. Cranston. The final member of our production team was Shane Valcich, a local filmmaker in Windham, New York; who valiantly joined the project as the director of photography. Erinn Clancy would join our team when we returned to New York City as our editor. Vídeo documentación de mi paso por Málaga para preparar la exposición en la Galería JM. nnnIsaac Cordal Eclipses de cementonnInauguración: Viernes, 23 de noviembre a las 21.00 h.nExposición: del 23 de noviembre del 2012 al 26 de enero de 2013n nLa reflexión sobre la sociedad actual a través de la escultura protagoniza esta nueva exposición de Isaac Cordal (Pontevedra, 1974) en las salas de la Galería Javier Marín. El modelado del alambre y las sombras inmateriales como capacidades representativas del cuerpo humano que pudimos ver en su anterior propuesta en la galería dan paso ahora al cemento, un material industrial que representa la huella del hombre en el entorno natural, una huella que no se puede camuflar y que ha ofrecido un resultado brutal en la sociedad civilizada.nnLa ciudad es un invento tan antiguo como el caos de seres hacinados al calor y a la crueldad que la ciudad les ha procurado. Ahora bien, la noción de individuo, como unidad de pensamiento y de acción propios, es algo más moderna. Baudelaire recorrió y observó el París reformado por Haussmann. Se dejó arrastrar por la marea urbana, dando origen a un lugar común de la literatura, la filosofía y el arte contemporáneo: la soledad del individuo sumergido en el entorno urbano, la pavorosa capacidad de los grandes núcleos urbanos para engullir la diferencia, para homogeneizar hábitos y ritos, para alimentar la ruina lenta del desarraigo.nnA través de un interesante discurso de oposición a esa lepra existencial de lo urbano, Isaac Cordal explora el espacio del SOHO-Málaga en esta su segunda exposición en JM, una zona urbana céntrica de la capital malagueña donde se ubica la galería, mediante instalaciones de su reciente y conocida serie Cement Eclipses, un proyecto que discurre entre los campos de la escultura, la fotografía y el vídeo. La escultura fue utilizada como punto de partida para las intervenciones urbanas que han dado origen a la producción fotográfica y audio-visual que reune la exposición. Estas pequeñas figuras de cemento que se integran en el paisaje urbano representan una metamorfosis en la que el ser humano abandona su papel de ciudadano mimetizándose con la ciudad para convertirse en parte de su mobiliario urbano. En un homenaje al ciudadano común, Cordal retrata a perturbados hombres de negocios que se sumergen acompasados bajo el agua de un charco, a un indigente sentado junto a su perro a la espera de algún cambio en la sociedad, a una ama de casa que vuelve del supermercado con bolsas de la compra, o a un personaje que contempla un pequeño e idílico paisaje que encuentra en la soledad de su paseo cotidiano frente a un Museo. De esta manera el hombre confirma su aislamiento voluntario de la naturaleza, camuflándose entre las aceras, las calles y las paredes en su nuevo hábitat natural. Estos seres diminutos también ocuparán los espacios de la galería al igual que ocuparon las calles malagueñas durante un instante o se quedaron a vivir en aceras, fachadas, voladizos o marquesinas del paisaje local. Toda una serie de actuaciones cargadas de imaginación que Cordal aborda en ocasiones con gran sentido del humor y en otras llenas de un cierto dramatismo pero siempre utilizando grandes dosis de emoción. Un mundo de micro-relatos que encierra la complejidad humana y el papel del hombre en la urbe.   Less

See more architecture and design movies on dezeen.com/moviesnnIn this exclusive video interview, musician Imogen Heap demonstrates the electronic gloves that allow people to interact with their computer remotely via hand gestures.nnThe interview was filmed at Heap's home studio outside London, shortly before she launched her Kickstarter campaign to produce a limited production run of the open-source Mi.Mu gloves.nn"These beautiful gloves help me gesturally interact with my computer," says Heap, explaining how the wearable technology allows her to perform without having to interact with keyboards or control panels.nnPushing buttons and twiddling dials "is not very exciting for me or the audience," she says. "[Now] I can make music on the move, in the flow and more humanly, [and] more naturally engage with my computer software and technology."nnEach gesture-control glove contains a wifi-enabled x-IMU board developed by x-IO Technologies containing an accelerometer, a magnetometer and a gyroscope.nnThese work together with a series of motion sensors incorporated into the fingers of each glove that track the degree of bend and the spread of the fingers. The gloves can also understand postures such as an open palm, a finger-point or a closed fist.nnThe latest version of the gloves feature e-textile technology, where sensors and wiring are integrated into fabric. Heap is now exploring how to make further use of electronically conducting textiles, to reduce the number of hard components in the gloves.nnHeap says they will not just change performance, but the production of music too: "We really feel that they are going to change the way we make music."nnHeap’s Kickstarter campaign aims to raise £200,000 to develop and produce a limited production run of Mi.Mu gloves. If successful, she will make both the hardware and software open source, allowing people to develop their own uses for the technology. "It’s really exciting to see what people might do by hacking them," said Heap. A micro documentary, exploring patient car enthusiast Jim Jones' 22 year journey restoring a 1957 Jaguar Mark 1.nnWhile visiting with my wife's family my father-in-law, Jim Jones asked if I would bring out my camera to take some photos and video of his recently completed 1957 Jaguar Mark 1. I was happy to oblige, but also took the opportunity to try something I've never done before. Make a documentary. Jim had been working on that car for as long as I've known him. He's an interesting, articulate guy, and I knew from the serendipitous stories that I'd heard about the car and his scavenging for parts that this would be an interesting story to tell.nnThe shoot was improvised on site with only available light.
