In dull Autumn days I like spending my time in the mountains hoping to climb up the clouds that look like the waves of the sea. Very weird situations to find. It took a lot of sacrifices and patience: sometimes the conditions seemed to be good but, often, the fog was too high.nThis timelapse short film tells “The Autumn in my Mountains”: colours, fogs, snow.. This collection is derived by the characteristic principles of Soviet Modernism through the simplification of form, repetitive angular geometries, and the aesthetic sensation and interpretation of contemporary materials.nnEmphatic in expressive simplicity, large in scale and imperial in its abstraction, Moral Form proposes bold interpretations of Brutalist Architecture such as cold appearance, harsh lines, linear elements and the consistent porous texture of concrete. See more architecture and design movies at dezeen.com/moviesnnAn Alpine choir pivoted on hydraulic platforms as part of French fashion house Moncler's Autumn Winter 2014 presentation at New York Fashion Week.nnMoncler created an audio-visual installation called Winter Symphony to showcase the brand's Moncler Grenoble ski and winter wear collection at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.nnMembers of the ten-piece Pendulum Choir stood on small platforms and were strapped to the mechanisms around the torso, legs and feet as they sang an updated version of a traditional Alpine song.nnDressed in down-filled morning suits, the nine singers and one conductor tilted in various directions as pistons behind their backs and under their feet contracted and expanded.nnBehind them, sixty male and female choir members dressed in black and white Moncler outfits stood in rectangular boxes stacked four levels high.nnEach box was illuminated around the edges, separated from each other so they appeared to float in the darkened theatre.nnLights shining on the choir members flashed as the larger collective joined in singing with the smaller group.nnThe presentation took place on 8 February during New York Fashion Week.   Less

On October 30th I went flying with my Phantom 3 in Castricum and after a foggy morning on November 1st I went to the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest) with my new Sony A7s II, the light was magical that day.nnEdited and graded in Final Cut Pro X with LUT Utility. Used the 'Baxter' LUT from James Miller's excellent set of SLOG3 DELUTS.nnMusic is 'Dreamlife' from Tony Anderson, licensed from the Musicbed.nnFirst shot taken with my 17-35mm Nikon F2.8, the rest of the shots with my Nikon 85mm F1.8 and Leica Summicron 35mm F2.0. All shot handheld with sensor stabilisation set to the appropriate focal length, some clips have some added stabilisation in post.nnAerial shots were taken with my Phantom 3 professional at 4K.nnAll Sony A7s II footage was shot at SLOG3 at 1600 ISO. Filmed during the most beautiful time of the year in Armenia. Autumn is probably the best season for visiting. Lakes and forests, mountains and historical monuments, painted with astonishing colors of nature !nShooting locations include Parz Lake in Dilijan, Lastiver waterfalls and forests of Ijevan, Noravank monastery in Yeghegnadzor, Makaravank church complex in Tavush Region, Akhtala monastery in Lori, nKhor Virap in Ararat Region. nThe idea of making a documentary in Armenia was in my mind for several years, but only now I started thinking less and doing more. So I gathered my gear and headed to the North West of Armenia, where I was welcomed with warm sun and colorful forests. Then the weather and nature radically changed in South Eastern part, fog coming down the mountains, some showers.
