World premier of D&D Yoga, the idea that these two activities and communities don't have much in common turned out to be untrue. The guided adventure intended as an experiment left people asking when the group will meet regularly. Players were given a 10 sided die and a character sheet as they entered the space in Brooklyn, NY. They embodied a single character, "...a roguish rugged individual who has run afoul of the local law. You are given the opportunity to be absolved of your crimes. Your task at hand is to take this package to the ancient temple in the nearby forest and leave it in its proper place."nnAlong with her experience as a dance/movement instructor, Sarah Dahnke brought her skills as an experimental dance and performance artist to the table to create new yoga poses meant to interpret the action of the campaign. The video shows a selection of these new positions although there were more along with a balance of traditional yoga moves as well. In the late 80's early 90's, the Fila Tennis low was the premium shoe of choice for D Boys in every hood in America. The duffle bag was their briefcase, a hoody & jogging pants was their suit of choice, & a snapback was their top hat. As kids growing up in urban America, those are the guys we envied & aspired to be. For a lot of people, these were our fathers, uncles, & older brothers. The hustlers in the neighborhood are some of the first business men we admired. In this independent business world, things like loyalty, adaptability, & maneuverability are things that separates the men from the boys. As independent business owners we take the mindset of the hustler, the positives, and apply it to our lives while pushing away the negative aspect of the illegal lifestyle. Emmy Nominated for Outstanding Main Title DesignnnWhile working at Digital Kitchen, I hoped to work on a show title project. They are rare gems in a sea of mostly commercial work. Luckily, my chance came.nnThrough executive producer Bryan Singer, the opening titles for a new show on FOX called House M.D. was brought to DK. I focused on fleshing out the design, and 2D/3D animation for the various anatomy shots. Not knowing when my previous collection of radiology x-rays from hospitals would come in handy, I was excited to put them to use on the project which you can see in the process stills and video.nnThe show has turned out to be quite a success and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Design in 2005.
