Une semaine durant, le festival D’DAYS dresse un panorama du design contemporain, tant en France qu’à l’étranger. Présent dans la capitale depuis quatorze ans, l’événement s’étend aujourd’hui du 16ème arrondissement à Pantin. A travers quatre parcours, les visiteurs peuvent rencontrer les créateurs et leurs interventions dans des lieux très variés : boutique, musée, école et ateliers. Le thème choisi pour cette édition est le « mouvement ». Une place de choix est faite aux jeunes créateurs talentueux dans la plupart des espaces du festival. Le Palais de Tokyo accueille pour l’occasion de jeunes designers comme Jérôme Dumetz et son work in progress PARAPANORAMA, Claire Lavabre et son installation luminaire poétique, mais encore les recherches d’Antoine Boudin sur la canne de Provence. Sur les Berges de Seine, dix jeunes créateurs de la région lyonnaise exposent leurs projets à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur de conteneurs laissés à leur disposition. Au musée des Arts Décoratifs, Stéphanie Langard explore le thème de cette année sans limite. Dans l’est parisien, sept écoles exposent leurs jeunes talents, parfois confrontés à leurs aînés. Au Carreau du Temple, la place est faite aux installations monumentales de Vincent Leroy et Eske Rex. En poussant la promenade au-delà du périphérique, plusieurs collectifs se sont donnés rendez-vous au Centre National de la Danse à Pantin afin de défier son architecture. La galerie Thaddaeus-Ropac se transforme pour l’occasion en un appartement aménagé par des artistes et designers. REST STOP is a comedy short which follows Meredith, a young backpacker desperate to find meaning in her life, when she meets a mysterious stranger in a dingy British service station...claiming to know her. The film stars Ben Willbond (Horrible Histories, Bill) and Cari Leslie (Boom Chicago) and was directed by award-winning filmmaker Kate Herron and written by Kate with Canadian comedian & writer, Monica Heisey whose written work has appeared in the New Yorker, Huffington Post and Playboy. She is currently Editor-at-Large of Broadly, VICE's sister site and writer on CBC's Schitt's Creek starring Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara.
