Follow me on my journey through the most significant and emotional year of my life.n'Val' is a chronological documentation day by day from 15 Feb 2013 to 15 Feb 2014.nStarting as a sort of travel/visual diary animation, the film took a big transformation. it turned out a completely different proposition altogether, covering huge milestones in my life beyond any of my expectations.nWithin this time frame you will see in order-nMy time in Brazil for my friends wedding.nMy journey traveling the east coast of Australia.nThe last days in Salisbury leading up to my Mother passing away.nA stag festival.nGetting married in Peru.nMy mothers funeral.nA lot of London, whilst getting a visa for my wife.nA second trip to Peru.nMoving into a new house.nGetting a new Job.nAnd then finally getting my wife Lisi here just in time to give birth to our son Leonard.nA year by no means as I planed, filled with emotion from euphoria to despair and back.nThe process of making this film has helped me get through this time. It has kept my brain active and been a challenge that I have endured in the name of my beautiful mother.nThe name Val is taken from both my mum Valerie Sheppard and my son Leonard Valentino Graham. I felt this truly represents this crazy circle of life.nThe mandala that appears with the logo and on the locket is symbolic of a year. The inner 12 circles for months the middle 56 for weeks and outer 365 for days.nnAll the photos are hand stabilised and taken using my iPhone, 80% 4S, 20% 5S. nThe shots when I was overseas where mainly spontaneous but the ones in London had too be far more considered. I would plan locations before hand and work out times of the day or year that I would visit them. This meant in the winter months I would have to get up early and travel London before starting work.nI nearly forgot a couple of times and I thought I had lost my phone a few times too which would have ruined the project. Thankfully i managed to keep hold of both laptop and phone whilst on my travels and armed with an alarm on my phone I remembered everyday. The response to the Action4Climate competition has been overwhelming.nnThe competition closed April 1, and the Connect4Climate team worked hard to compile a trailer of some incredible entries received from around the world, from Kiribati to Uganda, Brazil to the Netherlands.nnLucia Grenna, Connect4Climate Program Manager, explains, “It is a story of drought in Sub-Saharan Africa, floods in Southeast Asia, extreme weather and regret from the Philippines. It is a story of advancing climate solutions. There is a face to be shown and a story to be told. Our commitment is to empower youth, share their experience and solutions, and bring local stories to a global audience.”nnThe winner of the Action4Climate competition will be celebrated in October 2014 after the renowned Action4Climate jury, led by Italian film director and screenwriter Bernardo Bertolucci, has reviewed the films. Multi-touch installation for Football World Cup 2018 Organizing Committee. "Russia — the Country of Sports" forum, 8—10 of September 2011, Saransk, Russia.nn8 round multi-touch displays were mounted into 18 meters wide wall in a individual pavilion. Each of them running interactive presentation of the history of all World Cups. The upcoming 2014 (Brazil) and 2018 (Russia) event's sections had comprehensive information on the cities where games will be played and stadiums which will be built by that time.nnThe installation was based on a series of unique photos of real balls from the finals of past football world cups. Visitors could rotate every ball's 3D model, immersing into the history of football. The photos were provided by Jens Heilmann, who has been "hunting down" the historic football balls for years. New photos are posted regularly on his project's site http://theworldcupballs.com.nnOn the 17th of December 2011 our installation got FWA Site of the Day award. FWA stands for Favourite Website Awards, an industry recognised internet award program and inspirational portal, established in May 2000.nn–––nnМультитач-инсталляция для оргкомитета чемпионата мира по футболу 2018. Форум «Россия — спортивная держава», 8—10 сентября 2011, Саранск.nnВ отдельном павильоне на 18-метровой стене были установлены 8 круглых мультитач-экранов с интерактивной презентацией истории всех чемпионатов мира по футболу. В разделах, посвященных предстоящим чемпионатам 2014 и 2018 годов в Бразилии и России, была представлена информация обо всех городах, в которых будут проходить игры, и обо всех стадионах, которые будут построены к этому времени.nnОсновой презентации стала серия уникальных фотографий реальных мячей, которыми играли в финалах всех чемпионатов мира по футболу. Каждый посетитель мог покрутить и детально рассмотреть любую из 3D-моделей мячей, погружаясь в историю чемпионатов.
