June 6, 2010 | Los Pocitos, Guatemala iReporter — http://www.ireport.com/people/guahp Today we visited a community just south south-east of the Pacaya Volcano to deliver some much needed aid such as food, clothing and other items. While talking to the people in this village that was affected by the volcanic eruption and by the rain from Agatha, we asked about a lava flow near their town which we had heard of. One of the locals offered to take us to the area, which was about a 5minute drive from the center of this little community. We were told that the lava flow had destroyed some small shacks and a lot of farmland, and that the lava flow is spewing out of a newly formed crater. The local geological survey says that the flow is coming from this new crater and currently is more than 1.5km long and several hundred meters wide. People in this community are very worried because the lava flow is slowly moving in their direction. As we arrived, it was just amazing to see the huge river of solid rock venting out vapors and smoke in several areas. The size of the lava river is such, that you cannot see where it starts. The height of the wall of lava and rock flowing down the hill through a farm is very impressive. My estimate is anywhere between 4 and 6 meters high (about 13 -20 feet). We got very close to the front of the lava river where you can actually see the red lava inside the rock, fragments of rock breaking off and falling to the ground, while the whole flow just keeps moving forward. There is a lot of cracking noises as the rocks break off and fall against other volcanic rocks, and the color of the lava is this bright fire red that is just incredible to see, and standing just about 10 meters away, you can feel the intense heat. Overall an incredible experience Less

Ocilla, GA - A South Georgia officer speaking on behalf of law enforcement across the country garnered millions of views on social media after speaking his mind about recent events involving police. "My name is Billy Ray Fields. I am 33 years of age. I am currently five years running as a police officer in South Georgia," he began in his video. Officer Fields said he never expected his video would be seen by so many, and it has given him a chance to help his community. "Cops have a voice too, and this cop is going to speak out," said Fields, who is an officer with the Ocilla Police Department. "I don't support the looting and the violence that's going on in this country behind the movement that's taking place, but hey, this wouldn't be America if there wasn't any violence." - Billy Ray Fields Courtesy; Officer Billy Ray Fields Less
