According to the trade, Warner’s will make an ambitious attempt to use Martin Scorsese to bring Leonardo DiCaprio on as the Clown Prince of Crime. Though there's no offer yet for DiCaprio, and THR is also saying that Scorsese's deal to produce isn't finalized just yet, the attempt to sign DiCaprio is a signal for Hollywood that WB is looking to hire serious filmmakers to make serious, award caliber films based on their DC properties. nnIt looks as though Wonder Woman isn’t the only major blockbuster getting a serious Oscar campaign this year. Per Deadline, 20th Century Fox is planning to mount a major push—including Best Picture—for the well-reviewed third installment of the Apes franchise, War for the Planet of the Apes. Deadline’s report states that Fox is not only hoping to land Oscar nominations, but that the studio will also make a concerted effort to get Andy Serkis a special achievement award. nnBOX OFFICE REPORTnnBUY OR SELLnnAccording The Tracking Board, the long delayed, long in development reboot of The Crow has finally found a home, and is closer to moving forward after a decade languishing at Relativity Pictures. The trade reports the reboot will be distributed by Sony Pictures though as of now, Jason Momoa and director Corin Hardy are not signed on. Insiders over at THR however say that Sony does plan to include them, and are currently working out deals for them to sign on.nnSpeaking to Entertainment Weekly, Indiana Jones 5 screenwriter David Koepp revealed that Indy’s son Mutt, played by Shia LaBeouf in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, will not return for the fifth installment of the franchise. The writer offered the update on the movie, also revealing that he hopes it will be Spielberg’s next film after he releases his drama The Post later this December.
