L'abruti du jour c'est Hassan Hammoud, un jeune libanais qui n'a rien trouvé de mieux que de se filmer en train de mettre son chat dans le micro-onde et de le mettre en marche. Heureusement, il ne l'a laissé que 4 secondes dans le micro-onde. Le chat, surnommé BousBous, en ressort vivant et apparemment sans brûlure. C'est son ami Mohammad Jallad qui filme la scène. Tous les deux ont suscité l'indignation et la colère des internautes lorsqu'ils ont partagé leur vidéo sur le compte Facebook de Jallad. Rapidement, la vidéo a été supprimée pour avoir enfreint les politiques d'utilisation. Depuis, les deux jeunes ont été entendus et se sont excusés, notamment lors d'un interview (voir deuxième vidéo). L'animal a été confié à un service de soin des animaux au Liban appelée Animal Lebanon (sorte de SPA) et les deux jeunes se sont portés volontaires pour aider l'association d'aides des animaux, afin de s'excuser pour leur mauvaise action. The bobcat, later named Fencer was sedated and transported to ACT (Animal Coalition of Tampa) to be examined. Recently a crew in McMinnville, Oregon assisted two teenagers and a homeowner in their efforts to save a 700 pound cow that fell into an in-ground pool. Jeff Dyck who owns the male cow and property was able to lure the animal to the shallow portion of the pool. He also installed a makeshift wooden ramp inside. Once firefighters arrived at the home, they attached straps around the cow’s body to form a leash, while Dyck held a bucket of oats. Together, the team of ten firefighters pulled the 700 pound cow, however he kept falling onto his side.That’s when Dyck and his two sons went into pool to lift the animal into a standing position, making it easier for the crew to pull him out. M/S M/S W/S Zoo W/S Entrance to Nikolaev Zoo With news recently surfacing that the animals in Nikolaev Zoo are close to starvation due to a lack of government funding, campaigners and activists continued their daily struggle to keep the animals alive on Wednesday. Ukrainian resident and entrepreneur, South African Lionel de Lange, is just one campaigner engaged in a rescue mission at Nikolaev Zoo. For assistance, he contacted the Lawrence Anthony Earth Organisation (LAEO), who he is now working with to provide the animals with much needed food and emergency medical supplies. The government began to divert funds away from Nikolaev Zoo in January, which houses 5,735 animals including big cats, bears, monkeys, crocodiles, boa constrictors and elephants. Speaking about the situation, Lange explained how Ukraine's political crisis has led to a halt in government funding for all the country's zoos. The Nikolaev Zoo says it will not have the resources to take care of the animals' food needs until the end of April - when the weather gets warmer and entrance fees start mounting up. Case in point – a coyote in Singer Island, Florida that required the rescue efforts of humans.The bizarre ordeal started after a local resident chased the male coyote off his land. The animal did in fact run off, but he ended up in the wrong spot and landed in the Intracoastal Waterway. The coyote was left stranded there. Fortunately a witness spotted the animal and contacted Animal Care and Control. The person who saw the coyote mistook it for a dog, but as soon as an animal authority arrived on scene, they realized the distressed creature wasn’t a canine, but instead a coyote. David Hitzig from the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary led the rescue.
