We are an all girl group from Meyzeek Middle School, in Louisville, KY and our mobile app solution is a unique application called Pharm Alarm. Pharm Alarm helps people with diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, and memory loss. It reminds patients to take their medication and go to appointments. It can also help caregivers keep track of contact lists, important events and facts, and log the patient’s symptoms. Pharm Alarm would also give patients and caregivers access to a database where information about multiple diseases is shown, and much more. Pharm Alarm is the solution because it will drastically help people with devastating diseases by ensuring that they do the necessary actions needed to be in the best possible condition! nnPharm Alarm has many unique features that no other application like it has. These include our calling feature, and how you can connect the app to a Fitbit or Jawbone to track activity. nnThe Calling feature is an essential part of our app because it ensures that the patient is taking their medications. When it is time for the patient to take their medication, a notification will appear on their device, and will sound a ringtone specific to the app, that reminds the patient which medication to take, and the dosage. It will also show a picture of the medication. When they have finished, they press a button which will stop the alarm. If the button is not pushed within one hour of the alarm sounding, Pharm Alarm will call one of the relatives on the contact list with a pre-recorded message, stating that the patient has not taken their medication. nnLastly, you can connect a Fitbit or Jawbone to the application to monitor sleep and exercise patterns, as well as location. Diseases such as Alzheimer’s or dementia can change exercise and sleep patterns, as well as make the patient feel lost. This feature is very useful in that case. Less
