See more architecture and design movies at http://www.dezeen.com/moviesnnThis mobile structure in Hanoi, Vietnam, by Swiss architects Bureau A has a bicycle fitted underneath so it can be cycled from place to place.nnGeneva studio Bureau A designed the project as a multipurpose structure, to be used for anything from a vertical street food restaurant to an exhibition space.nnThe mobile structure can cycled anywhere is it needed, similar to this mobile town square that features a miniature clock tower on the back of a bicycle.nnThe structure belongs to Tadioto, a local bar and cultural centre who use it for art and other social events.nnThe bicycle was originally owned by the steel worker who built the structure, who adapted to fit in the bottom section it can be moved around easily.   Less

"I wanted to do a very compact case that has details of different influences that I thought were nice to put together."nn"It's a little bit of a new classic, that's the idea I had from the beginning."nnThe OC1 series comes in five colourways, including a green and blue version among more traditional colours such as brown, black and white. Each colour is available in a limited edition run of 999 pieces.nn"I thought about a mixture of colours and combinations that could be classic as well as some that could be sporty or some that are more, let's say, shocking," says Hayon.nn"The pieces are going to be limited, they're pretty exclusive."nnOrolog features a number of subtle details. "If you have two layers of patterns, for example stripes or dots, and they rotate, you create a new pattern," says Derksen.nnThere are five pendants in the collection. One features two discs, both perforated with circular dots.nnWhen the front disc is rotated from the centre, a series of expanding and contracting rings appears.nnA similar design, when rotated from the top, creates a series of larger dots.nnTwo square discs pierced with square holes create a grid pattern. "When I started the project, I didn’t know what I wanted to make. I usually start my design process from a principle like gravity, or in this case the Moiré effect, and research it, and only afterwards do I think about how to apply it," says Derksen.nn"I had a couple of small samples on my desk and I was playing with them constantly. It was then that I thought, 'We have to make something that you can play with.' I decided that if we made a pendant, it would add something to your outfit, but you could also look at it and play with it yourself. This video, filmed by Julien Pierrefeu, is a documentation of a twenty minute performance at Edinburgh's Summerhall. The performance emerged from a two-week collaborative process informed by exercises and improvisations. We began the performance by letting the audience settle and relax into the ambience of the large hall. Then the recorded sound of the space was faded in and a bowed Tibetan bowl picked up on some of the unique resonances captured by the recording. The scraping of the bow on the bowl was developed and extended by scraping the audience's chairs with metal rods. This was carried outwards into the space by 'playing' the radiators, window frames and other features of the interior architecture. This merged into the sound of small fm radios rubbed on the outside of frame drums and later turned to the unfolding and manipulation of rolls of tinfoil above the listener's heads. Spatial movements included dispersal from the centre to the peripheries (the 'suburbs') caused, for example, by rolling wooden dowel and spring steel rods along the floor. These dispersals were followed by returns to the centre, using the sounds of ball bearings, small rivets and superballs rolled around the inside of frame drums, or small bell sounds made by domestic metal fittings, these mixed carefully with recordings of the same sounds captured in the space itself. Distant balloon bursts then punctuated the more complex textures before a semblance of arch-form brought the players back to scraping the listener's chairs and closing with the recorded sound of the space disappearing a niente, leaving the audience to settle once again into a contemplation of the ambient sounds of the space.   Less
