Tibetan temple music is particularly renowned in the west for its two forms of multiphonic singing known as jok-kay (low tone) and bar-da (high tone). In both forms, each of the main chantmasters simultaneously intones three notes, thus each individually creating a complete chord. The Tibetans are one of the only cultures on earth that cultivate this most extraordinary vocal ability. This tradition is also known as "overtone singing" because it is accomplished by learning to control the muscles of the vocal cavity and then re-shaping it while singing, thus intensifying the natural overtones of the voice. In effect, the body is transformed into an effective overtone amplifier. nnOne night in 1433, the Tibetan lama Je Tzong Sherab Senge awoke from a startling dream. In it he had heard a voice unlike any voice that had ever sounded on the planet. It was a low voice, unbelievably deep, sounding more like the growl of a wild bull than anything human. Combined with this first voice, there was a second. This voice was high and pure, like the sound of a child singing. These two voices, so totally different, had come from the same source and that source was Je Tzong Sherab Senge himself.nnIn this dream, Je Tzong Sherab Senge had been instructed to take this special voice and use it for a new chanting style that would embody both the masculine and feminine aspects of divine energy. It was a tantric voice, a sound that could unite those chanting it in a web of universal consciousness.The next morning, Je Tzong Sherab Senge began to chant his daily prayers. The sounds that came out of him were the sounds he had heard in his dream — unearthly sounds, tantric sounds — and he gathered his fellow monks together to tell them of his dream.nnThat year, more than 500 years ago, the Gyume Tantric Monastery began in Lhasa , Tibet . The monks of this monastery learned to chant in the same voice which Je Tzong Sherab Senge had heard in his dream. It was a voice that enabled each monk to chant three notes at the same time, creating 'One Voice Chords'. Within that same century, another monastery in Lhasa , the Gyuto Tantric College , was founded. The monks at this fellow Tantric College also incorporated this chanting technique in their sacred rituals.nnFor centuries the magical sounds and rituals of Tibet lay enshrouded in the mysteries of a country refusing communication with the outside world. Stories of this unearthly chanting would filter back to the 'civilized' world along with tales of seemingly superhuman abilities which the Tibetan monks were said to possess, but these seemed to be nothing more than myth. In 1950 China invaded Tibet. Certain monks escaped to India, where they continued their tantric rituals. Their spiritual activities remained esoteric, but certain teachers of religion and ethnomusicology were finding their tantric rituals somewhat more accessible. These scientists and scholars would come back to the West with reports of a remarkable chanting technique utilized by the Gyume and Gyuto monks. nnIn Tibetan tantric chanting the goal of the chanting is to invoke and then unite with a particular deity or being. The monks literally become the gods and goddesses to whom they are praying. He stopped what he was doing and immediately went to the hospital.nnOn arrival he was informed that the girl was in a critical condition and that the doctors were planing to turn off the life support, as there was no hope. When he went into the room the girl's family were all crying, and it seemed like they were saying their goodbyes. The family being Catholic were very faithfully praying in their custom. Then he found out that the girl had a very bad seizure previously, and that's what caused her to be in this near death condition.nnPr Daniel stated, "When I got there, there was no hope at all in the natural. To my surprise, I noticed that the nurse on duty was from our church. After asking all the visitors to leave the room, I asked only the parents and the born-again Christian nurse to come in. Looking at the girl I felt very sad. The room was filled with the spirit of death.nnI knew something had to change immediately, or the girl would not last until the next morning. So I took authority in the name of Jesus and bound the spirit of death and every word curse spoken over this young 17 year old girl, who was unconscious and on life support. When I looked at the parents my heart was drawn towards them with compassion. By this time I had alerted our intercessors to storm heaven in prayer. I led the mother & father to the Lord.nnThen I declared, 'Fallon (the girl's name) you shall not die but live and praise God. Spirit of death leave this room. I call back Fallon in Jesus name, come back.' Then turning to the family, I told them. Now do not ask God to heal. You do not need to repeat the same prayer. You must now start thanking Jesus by faith for her healing and then I left."nnThe next day Pr Daniel was informed that the girl had opened her eyes and that everyone was surprised, including the doctors. A few days later he went back to the hospital and was very happy as the girl was with her eyes wide open, but still in a state of a daze.nnPr Daniel stated, "I knew at this point that I had to bind the spirit of seizure in the name of Jesus, so I did and commanded that spirit to leave in Jesus name. I believe the girl's eyes were opened, so that I could directly command to the spirit of death to get out in Jesus name. As I did this, I noticed for the very first time that her throat and neck muscles were shaking. I knew as to what was happening. The parents and grandmother were with me.nnGlory to God, I visited her recently. Now she is able to look right in your eye and communicate very well. No longer in a daze. So I asked her to repeat what I tell her, even though she still had some tubes in her body, including one in her mouth. I led to the Lord and then told her to confess that she will celebrate her 18th birthday, 21st birthday, get married, have children and live happily for along time. She responded and did so. It was so exiting to see the parents smile with great joy and they looked so happy."nnFallon still has a long way to go. Please uphold her and her family in prayer. It was so encouraging when Pr Daniel received a text message from the nurse telling him as to what an amazing miracle it was.nnWe serve a miracle working God. Soon after the fall of the Twin Towers, we were engaged in a war against the terrorists in Iraq and now that war has continued to be fought in Afghanistan with the loss of many more American lives. nnDuring these past ten years of war since 9/11, against terrororists whose worldwide aim is to deprive as many people as possible of their God given human rights and freedoms, the terrorists are now being soundly defeated on all fronts. The men and women who were lost in the fall of the Twin Towers as well as those who are in our armed forces now are the "cream of the crop" and we mourn the loss of all those who have fallen in this much prolonged fight against terrorism's threat to freedom everywhere. The patriotism of those lost men and women as well as those who bravely continue to serve today are to be remembered and honored with patriotic pride during this the tenth anniversary of the fall of the Twin Towers. Do you remember the spontaneous show of American patriotism, with the Stars and Stripes flying everywhere - all over the USA after 9/11? Let's resurrect and continue to display that same kind of patriotism on this day as we remember and witness again - the lighting of the Twin Towers Lights. Learn How To Get Rid Of Sciatica with these Home Remedies. Sciatica is pain caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve, usually felt in the lower back, buttock, and back of the leg. There are two sciatic nerves, one on each side of the body. They begin in the lower back, where they are formed by the combination of five spinal nerves from the lower spine. They run from the lower back, through the buttock and down the thigh; they then divide into other nerves that provide sensation and muscle function in the lower legs and the feet. Sciatica can be felt anywhere along the course of the sciatic nerve. Sciatica is a symptom of an underlying condition. Injuries anywhere along the course of the sciatic nerve can give rise to sciatica. The most common cause of sciatica is compression of the nerve at the spine, but injuries to the sciatic nerve in the lower pelvic cavity, buttock, and back of the leg are also frequent. What Causes Sciatica? Sciatica is usually caused by lower back problems due to disorders of the spine associated with a herniated disc, intervertebral disc degeneration, displacement of vertebral bones, bone spurs, joint cysts, or narrowing of the spaces between vertebral bones. These disorders can cause irritation and compression of the spinal nerves that form the sciatic nerve, leading to inflammation, pain and numbness in the affected area. Most of the sciatica cases are caused by intervertebral disc disorders. The intervertebral discs are structures located between the spinal bones. They have a soft center and a rough exterior, acting as cushions between the vertebrae while allowing some mobility of the spine. Over time, these discs dehydrate and stiffen, losing their cushioning ability and leaving the nerves more susceptible to compression. When excessive pressure or stress is placed on the spine, the disc may be compressed to the point of a tear or a bulge outwards, creating a herniated disc. When this occurs in the lower back, it may cause inflammation or compression of a spinal nerve, leading to sciatica. Home Remedies for Sciatica: Hot or Cold Compresses: Both hot and cold therapy can be an effective at home remedy. Ice to the site of pain is best if it is applied within two days of a sciatic injury. After several days, switch to using a heating pad on the tight lower back muscles to relieve the strain. Cold treatment reduces swelling around the nerve and also numbs the pain. Heat treatment relaxes tense muscles that may be compressing the sciatic nerve. Stretching Has Been Proven To Reduce Sciatic Pain Stretches to relieve low back painStretching is another method that can be done at home to relieve in sciatic pain. Tension in the prominent muscle of the buttocks and the piriformis muscle can aggravate the sciatic nerve. Releasing the tension with static stretches can relieve pain, strengthen, and balance the muscles associated with the sciatic nerve. Anti-Inflammatories for Sciatica: If you are suffering with sciatica nerve pain it is important to treat the underlying conditions that are causing the pain. Finding and implementing the right treatment program will help you cure your sciatica for good. In the meantime anti-inflamitories can help reduce the pain. Deep Tissue Massage The piriformis muscle can be tight and in spasms, which in turn compresses the sciatic nerve and causes inflammation and pain. The massage treatment would include applying constant deep tissue pressure to the piriformis and other gluteal muscles to cause them to release tension and reduce the related spasms. These muscles can become inflamed and tight due to constant pressure from long hours of standing and/or sitting on the nerve. The massage therapist would then include long deep strokes to get deep into the muscle fibers. Pressure and technique would vary from person to person and gentle vibration of the buttock and sacrum is also performed. It was Initially made famous by Soviet Olympians in the 1970s, providing the core element in the strength programs of elite sporting athletes worldwide. Sports using plyometrics include basketball, tennis and volleyball as well as the various codes of football.nnThe term "plyometrics" was coined by Fred Wilt after watching Soviet athletes prepare for their events in track and field; he felt this was a key to their success. He began a collaboration with trainer Michael Yessis of Soviet (Russia)to promote plyometrics.nnSince its introduction in the early 1980s, two forms of plyometrics have evolved. In the original version of plyometrics, created by Russian scientist Yuri Verkhoshansky, it was defined as the shock method. In this, the athlete would drop down from a height and experience a "shock" upon landing. This in turn would bring about a forced eccentric contraction which was then immediately switched to a concentric contraction as the athlete jumped upward. The landing and takeoff are executed in an extremely short period of time, in the range of 0.1–0.2 second. The shock method is the most effective method used by athletes to improve their speed, quickness, and power after development of a strong strength base.nnRather than using the term plyometrics to indicate exercises utilizing the shock method, it may be preferable to use the term explosive or true plyometrics which can be considered the same as the plyometrics originally created by Verkhoshansky. The shock method that he created was the result of studying the actions that occur in running and jumping. He found that the landings and takeoffs in these two skills involved high ground reaction forces that were executed in an extremely quick and explosive manner. For example, time of execution of the landing and takeoff in jumping was close to 0.20 second and in sprinting it was approximately 0.10 second.nnSince one of the main objectives of the Soviet research was to develop practical methods of training to improve athletic performance, Verkhoshansky tackled the task of how these forces in explosive execution could be duplicated in an exercise. By doing exercises such as the depth jump, that he created, the athlete would enhance his ability in the takeoff and his resultant performance in the running or jumping event. He experimented with many different exercises, but the depth jump appeared to be the best for duplicating the forces in the landing and takeoff.nnThe second version of plyometrics, seen to a great extent in the United States, relates to doing any form of jump regardless of execution time. Such jumps cannot be considered truly plyometric (as described by Verkhoshansky) since the intensity of execution is much lower and the time required for transitioning from the eccentric to the concentric contraction is much greater. The term plyometrics became very popular with the publication of many books on the subject matter. It now appears impossible to go back to its original meaning and method of execution.nnAs a result, it is important to distinguish which type of "plyometric" exercise is used in order to determine its effectiveness and potential to receive the stated benefits.
