1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Convertible For Sale in Chicago. This 442 convertible has 60800 original miles. The engine is the 400 4brl Oldsmobile, with dual exhaust, and is backed by a more modern Turbo 350 transmission (which replaced the original Jet-A-Way automatic). This Oldsmobile has a rebuilt 10 bolt posi rearend with 3.43 gears. The original Rochester carburetor was replaced with another period correct Rochester modified to deal with the turbo 350 kick down cable. With the GTO receiving GM corporate sanction, Oldsmobile followed suit with a big-engine 442. The B09 option was renamed 442 and the price was lowered to $190.45 for F-85s and $156.02 for Cutlasses. The new 400 CID (6.6 L) engine became standard, and the definition of "442" was restated as 400 cubic inches, 4 barrel carburetor (a 515 cfm Rochester 4-Jet), 2 - dual exhausts. Output for the big engine rose to 345 hp and 440 lb•ft. Other touches added to the '65 were chrome body side scoops adorned with 442 badging, chambered dual exhaust pipes, chrome single snout air cleaner, and 442 badging on the dash. It also offered standard bucket seats when optioned on the Cutlass and a 6000 rpm tachometer, mounted in the console. The console was optional, which made the tachometer optional. The Rally Sport has two tone paint scheme, includes "upper color" hood, header panel, grill, headlamp bezels, top of fenders, front part of roof, upper portion of doors, rear end panel and license plate opening. Tri-color decal separates upper color from body color. Tri-color rally sport decals on fenders and deck lid. Option D35 sport mirrors, D80 rear spoiler and ZJ7 Rally Wheels were standard. Available lower body color choices were: Lt. Blue, Beige, Red, Silver, White & Bright Yellow. 1973 Volvo P1800 ES for sale in Chicago Illinois. This unique 1973 Volvo is equipped with AM/FM radio, power brakes, seat belts and a vinyl interior. The wheels on this P1800 have been recently reconditioned with original hub caps and new chrome trim rings. The paint on this Volvo has recently been redone and is in good condition. All the gauges on the dash work along with the original AM/FM radio. Originally a New Mexico car the Volvo is a former reliable daily driver. The front bumper is detached but is included in the sale. 1973 was the last year the P1800 was produced and was only available in an ES version. Total production of the 1800 line from 1961 through 1973 was 47492 units. Production ended on June 27, 1973. The cause of the P1800's demise was its competition: the Volvo P1800 was introduced at the same time as the Jaguar E-Type and in the US the P1800's price was not much less than the Jaguar. In fact, in the UK it was slightly more expensive than an E-Type. From the windshield pillar rearward, the 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air Impala differed structurally from typical Chevrolets. Hardtops had a slightly shorter "greenhouse" or window area and longer rear deck, giving the impression of an extended body. 1958 was the first year of dual headlamps also. This Impala has the 348 Tri-Power engine with a "3 on the tree" 3-speed manual transmission, dual exhaust, and a posi-traction rearend. Options on this 58 Chevy are original AM Delco radio (not hooked up) AM/FM radio in the glove box, power steering, posi rearend, vinyl/cloth interior, original style Wide Whitewall bias ply tires, and the Continental kit. This Impala has been fully restored to stock, with a lot of detail, including original style factory T3 headlights and radiator rock/bug screen. The chrome and trim are in beautiful condition, and the paint shines nicely. Those are faux spotlights. On the dash is a cool Traffic Signal Indicator. With a six-cylinder engine, a Chevrolet Bel Air Impala started at $2586, while $2693 bought a V8. In all, 55989 convertibles and 125480 Sport Coupes were built, 15 percent of production. At any given moment about 2,000 thunderstorms roll over Earth, producing some 50 flashes of lightning every second. Each lightning burst creates electromagnetic waves that begin to circle around Earth captured between Earth's surface and a boundary about 60 miles up. Some of the waves - if they have just the right wavelength - combine, increasing in strength, to create a repeating atmospheric heartbeat known as Schumann resonance. This resonance provides a useful tool to analyze Earth's weather, its electric environment, and to even help determine what types of atoms and molecules exist in Earth's atmosphere.nnThe waves created by lightning do not look like the up and down waves of the ocean, but they still oscillate with regions of greater energy and lesser energy. These waves remain trapped inside an atmospheric ceiling created by the lower edge of the "ionosphere" - a part of the atmosphere filled with charged particles, which begins about 60 miles up into the sky. In this case, the sweet spot for resonance requires the wave to be as long (or twice, three times as long, etc) as the circumference of Earth. This is an extremely low frequency wave that can be as low as 8 Hertz (Hz) - some one hundred thousand times lower than the lowest frequency radio waves used to send signals to your AM/FM radio. As this wave flows around Earth, it hits itself again at the perfect spot such that the crests and troughs are aligned. Voila, waves acting in resonance with each other to pump up the original signal.nnWhile they'd been predicted in 1952, Schumann resonances were first measured reliably in the early 1960s.
