PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A couple accused of putting their son in the trunk of their car to cure his fear of darkness appeared in a Westmoreland County courtroom today. Jeff Lenhart, 26, and his wife, 25-year-old Danielle Lenhart, were tight lipped after leaving District Justice Denise Snyder Thiel’s office in Ligonier. The Lenharts waived abuse and neglect charges stemming from three alleged incidents where the couple reportedly tried to teach their 3-year-old son a lesson on how to overcome fear of the dark. “I don’t know exactly why she was doing it, but unfortunately, it was done,” said Anthony Bompiani, Danielle’s attorney. “Again, it just wasn’t a great decision.” Westmoreland County detectives say on three occasions this summer the couple allegedly drove to Idlewild Park from their Latrobe home. Investigators say that during the drive they would allegedly fold down the car’s backseat and tell the boy to go look for candy in the trunk. They gave him a flashlight. Once inside, authorities say the couple would allegedly then put the seat back up until they got to the amusement park. “How could you do this to a child? We’re all afraid of the dark,” said an associate of the family who didn’t want to be identified. “The family’s always had problems with how they’re treating their kids. You don’t lock someone in a trunk; maybe you take away the nightlight after a few years.” “We reached a plea agreement with the Commonwealth,” said Bompiani. “It wasn’t the best decision by my client, but we worked it out today.” Jeffery Lenhart’s attorney declined comment on his client’s status. The attorney for the mother says the child is fine and the couple still has full custody of their children. ************************************************************************************************************* Nyctophobia = Fear of Darkness Less

During the ceremony protesters screamed and dropped to the floor before being covered in sheets smattered with fake blood as makeshift mobile aeroplanes were carried aloft by other protesters, imitating drones. The action aimed to draw attention to the use of drones by US military forces in the Middle East and Asia and to protest civilian 'collateral' deaths in operations by the unmanned aircrafts. A total of 17 people were killed in December 2013 when a U.S. drone targeted vehicles that were part of a wedding procession going toward the groom's village outside the Yemeni city of Rad'a. Five of those killed had been Al-Qaeda suspects while the rest were civilians. The wedding party of two Egyptian doctors in the city of Menoufia, Egypt. The celebration looks like a typical Egyptian wedding, except that the groom and his friend decided to make it unique by arranging a show themed around the latest videos released by ISIS, including the burning of the Jordanian pilot, and the killing of 21 Egyptians in Libya and other such videos. The show included Islamic Jihadi-style music, a cage, knives, and masked men who "forced" the groom and bride into the cage. By the way, this doesn't mean that they support ISIS in any way, it just their way of having fun. Think of it as dark comedy, whether you think it's appropriate or not. It shows the influence that ISIS and its media can have on popular culture. citizens confronted county and military officials Monday in Texas over the planned Jade Helm 15 training exercise that has ignited fears of a military takeover. Elite forces from all four branches of the military will take part in the July 15-Sept. 15 operation in seven states across the southwest, where role players will stand in for hostile and less-hostile forces. Residents packed the Bastrop County Commission, where a U.S. Army spokesmananswered questions while an overflow crowd watched from downstairs on closed-circuit television. Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria tried to assure the crowd that no intelligence would be gathered on non-participants, no property would be confiscated, and no psychological operations would be conducted. Participants were torn between their respect for the military and their suspicion of the Obama administration, and they frequently expressed concern that they had not been notified about the exercise until conspiracy theories began circulating on social media. The recent closing of five Walmart stores sparked fears that those stores would be converted into detention centers or link to underground tunnels to transport troops. Saudi Arabia denies that its warplanes launched an airstrike on Yemen’s southwestern province of Ta’izz, which killed 130 people in a wedding ceremony. Saudi military officials say they are unaware of what caused the deaths in Mokha town. They say ordinary civilians cannot distinguish between airstrikes, missiles, or explosions. The United Nations earlier confirmed that a Saudi air raid caused the deadly incident on Monday. Yemeni officials say most of the victims were women and children. Nearly 64-hundred Yemenis have been killed since the beginning of the Saudi aggression on March 26.
