My feeble attempts at time-lapse photography. Sure, they aren't perfect, but they are getting better. I need to learn to match the speed of my images to the FPS to make them smoother, but I'm getting there. The first two of the series was done without an intervalometer, something to time the shots, which is a shame, I think they were possibly the best scenes I captured. The third in the series is a little out of focus (the auto focus picked up the trees instead of the clouds), but it is some cool footage...a hail storm passing in front of my house. Wicked storm, and well worth watching by itself, but I threw in a few more so you can see what I've been trying. Also, if any Leakers have tips or suggestions that would be helpful, please leave them in the comments...for those of you who don't know me, I do read them and give out thumbs where they are deserved. My only goal is to produce a better video for you guys, and I appreciate the help. Specifically, the main areas I'm struggling in are with the timing...you'll notice in the later images that it appears to stutter...is there a formula, or a rule of thumb for determining how long each image should be displayed? Does it all depend on your shutter speed and/or the time between each image? Also, when I transfer the images to video, I lose a lot of the quality. It's my fault, I know. I generally just use Windows Live Video, but I also have Avid Studio, but it seems terribly difficult to use, especially for the simple stuff I need it for. I'm sure there are some settings that I could adjust, but I'm really a safety guy, so it's like I'm learning a foreign language, and I really don't even know how to ask the questions, so any help in that area would be cool. My images are 12.2 MP, but in the video it looks like I was using a potato cam...lol. Thanks guys!!! Hope you enjoy it LiveLeak. Peace.
