The vehicle has been on display at Sotheby's since Monday, with thousands having come to view it alongside dozens of other cars at "Art of the Automobile 2013." The Ferrari is the priciest car on display. Built in 1964 and featuring a Ferrari V-12 engine and five-speed gear box, the mid-engined sports car boasts 320 horsepower. The racer originally belonged to Steven Earle of San Francisco, California, who casually drove it around the streets of his city for three years before selling it for $14,750 in 1967. The car would eventually make its way into the hands of Ecuadorean race car drivers Guillermo Ortega and Fausto Merello of Raceco. It was the last Ferrari to win the 24-hour race at Le Mans, repeating the feat at the 1968 24 Hours of Daytona. The racer's expected sale-price, while high, still falls well short of the $52 million (€38.70 million) paid for the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO racer earlier this year. Less
