Today Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden appeared on Megyn Kelly's show on Fox News. IMO both did an excellent job. Kelly like a rabid bulldog asked intelligent and tough questions. When she did not get an answer, she asked the question again.nnHowever, CDC Director Frieden COMPETENTLY answered every question posed. WARNING: You may not like what you hear the Director has to say, but he is right. So TV personalities and pundits should quit trying to cause panic.nnI won't interpret the Q & A with too many of my own opinions, but listen to the Director. He made sense.nnThe key to controlling a U.S. outbreak is to jump on cases when they arise. And hospitals must immediately train personnel and get the proper equipment to all staff.nnAnyway, I thought BOTH did an outstanding job in this interview on putting the hard questions to the Director, and the fed answering them, at least as much as we as lay people are able to understand.nnIf Frieden was like this in his speeches I suspect Americans would not be so mistrustful of how Washington is handling matters.nnNote: I don't think many people understand the CDC's jurisdiction and authority. I do not believe the CDC has jurisdiction and control over states and local government, that is unless the POTUS declares a national emergency, or if we turn into a bunch of Zombies the POTUS declared martial law (in all seriousness, because the citizens are out of control and Ebola has reached epidemic proportions).nnI assume the fed, under advice by the Dept. of Health and Human Services, FAA, SOS, Immigration, and others, does have the authority to immediately close our borders, forbid travel to West Africa, control immigration, arrest and detain the Dr. Nancy Snyderman types (oh please Lord, please let that happen), and ban flights, but like the Director said (and I agree) there's a bigger picture here.nnFor example, encircling West Africa so no one goes in, and no one enters or leaves the region will make the situation worse. nnTo us "erecting barbed wire" and "planting land mines" sounds like swell ideas, but all that will do is cause Ebola to spread to hundreds of thousands then maybe millions in the West African population making Ebola impossible to control anywhere in the world.nnI do disagree with the Fed that they should delay closing our borders until we can get immigration controls into place. Yes, it is mean and discriminatory to appear to be locking our doors, but we can't allow Ebola-infected people to sneak into the U.S. and travel to all parts of the U.S.nnThis is serious and we need to get Ebola under control. A few cases are too many.nnI also disagree with the Fed "defrauding" us with placebos, e.g., taking the temperature of passengers arriving in the U.S. accomplishes a prevention objective. The Fed knows that is BS and it should stop with the theatrics.nnSidenote: If anyone knows the jurisdiction and authority of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, please chime in.nnI don't think the Agency has the authority to order State, local, private business, and health practitioners to do anything. The CDC's role is limited to advise state and local health agencies, who do in fact have the legal authority to regulate hospitals and health practitioners. (E.g. hospitals, doctors and nurses are licensed by the state. Just as our driving is regulated by the state who issued our driver's license, so too are health practitioners regulated by the state.)nnThis is important because I suspect our angst and anger is NOT properly directed at the CDC, to the extent your concerns are about your local hospital, not what someone is doing in Dallas, Texas.nnOur complaints and concerns should be voiced via the phone and emails to our individual state health agencies. We should be contacting our local hospitals, asking what they are doing to prepare for when and if an Ebola case shows up.nnBut, to the extent you want international travel limited, we should be contacting the federal govt. There's only one problem, Kaplan’s decision in favor of Chevron is deeply flawed both legally and factually and resulted from a bench trial overseen by a judge who repeatedly demonstrated his animus toward the Ecuadorian villagers and their counsel. nnJudge Kaplan’s decision has no credibility – it is void for lack of jurisdiction and ruthlessly distorts the truth. In an unprecedented display of judicial overreach, Judge Kaplan tried to use his Manhattan courtroom to reverse a unanimous decision from Ecuador’s Supreme Court involving questions of Ecuadorian law. Judge Kaplan’s decision is also in open defiance of a prior decision in the very same case from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, which barred him from ruling as he did on the validity of a foreign country’s judgment.nnDuring the seven-week RICO trial, Judge Kaplan made a mockery of the rule of law. He refused to seat a jury and then let Chevron’s army of lawyers use the jury room as a private office. He then repeatedly denied the defendants the opportunity to present the voluminous and unassailable scientific evidence that proves the Ecuador judgment is valid. He also refused evidence that Chevron repeatedly attempted to corrupt and sabotage the proceedings in Ecuador because it knew it was losing on the merits. I’ll rip your fucking head off, and shit down your neck --- Saratoga County Deputy Sgt. Shawn R. Glans, of Halfmoon, New York Sgt. Shawn Glans barked the above quote to intimidate, harass, and verbally abuse a Halfmoon, New York citizen. This bad cop, we can reasonably assume has been clearly used to enjoying his powerful position. Had this hidden video not been released of THIS incident, he would still be on the force and in a position to terrorize citizens with impunity. This poor excuse for a police officer bullied and terrorized a citizen for not giving consent to search his car. Capturing the encounter surreptitiously by a friend of the driver who turned on the camera on his smart phone, and holding it in his hand in a way to keep dipshit Shawn Glans unaware. The stupid, self-entitled pig was acting in his normal, abusive way. The entire incident is why you should always film encounters with police officers. ALWAYS. The driver and his companion were breaking no laws. The hopefully "soon-to-be former" officer Sgt. Glans confronted them because he allegedly saw them walk out of nearby wooded area toward their vehicle, located in the parking lot of an adjoining business. The cop also said he noticed a .22-caliber rifle on the back seat. The citizen stood his ground, refusing to surrender his constitutional right to be free from unreasonable search. Thereafter, the deputy got more aggressive and threatening and, at one point, he slaps the citizen. The slap itself was not caught on the video, but the sound and the movement of the deputy’s body tell the whole story. If the video was not filmed, Sgt. Glans would have simply gotten away with it, just as he has gotten away with paralyzing and blinding a man by crashing into his car head on going almost triple the speed limit in 1997. Because of the recorded video evidence, the Saratoga County Sheriff suspected the deputy without pay pending their “internal investigation“. This basically means that instead of firing the abuser and charging him with battery, first degree strong arm robbery, harassment, abuse of power and assault with a deadly weapon (while he didn’t draw his gun, he had it on him while committing the aforementioned felonious behavior). This technique is commonly used by police forces everywhere in order to diffuse the outcry of citizens for what can be several months or longer. When the heat dies down, the complaint is typically refuted and the police officer gets reinstated, often with back pay. According to Chief Richard L. Castle, Glans was suspended without pay when officials found out about the footage. Castle said in a statement, “At this time this is an internal personnel investigation as there is no criminal complaint from the involved civilian.” Nothing will probably happen to this bad pig, nor to his partner, who should likewise be arrested for complicity in crimes he did nothing to stop or report. Bystander cops are often the apologists who find reasons to excuse the bad behavior of their "Brothers in Blue". They like to indicate that "99 percent" of all police are “good cops“, as if ignoring the illegal behavior they witness, and standing behind the "blue wall of silence" should be tolerated. Sgt. Glans has the audacity to publicly defend his actions by stating, "I was concerned. It was a public safety issue. If I had to do it all over again … I’d probably do the same thing. If I knew the camera was there, no, because it does look bad." He admits that he’d break the law again, and terrorize any citizen again, but only if he thought that he would not get caught on camera. His wife also publicly defended him by stating, "What my husband did and how he reacted wasn’t the correct way to do it, but there were circumstances that came about beforehand… “He’s had a very hard year." Her jerk of a husband should not get a free pass to assault innocent civilians because they have a "hard life." Just because the scumbag pig has to deal with life like the rest of us, should it be treated as a green light to harass, threaten, intimidate, violate rights, break laws, and mess up other people’s lives? The questions to ask are, what would the citizen be charged if he slapped the cop and verbally assaulted him? Police should suffer twice the consequences of civilians when they commit crimes during the course of their duties. Thanks to cell phone cameras, these psychopathic pigs are finally getting outed as the bullies they really are. For decades and decades they have gotten away with behavior like this all the while promoting themselves as the paragons of justice. If this had not been filmed, Sgt. Glans (literally "Dickhead") would still be terrorizing citizens today on the public payroll. According to Chief Richard L. Before that he was a partner at Rose Law Firm in Little Rock, Arkansas and a colleague and friend of Hillary Rodham Clinton. At the White House, he was unhappy with work in politics, and spiraled into depression, leading to his suicide in 1993. (JAY) NIXON, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Missouri, including Sections 44.010 through 44.130, RSMo, do hereby declare a State of Emergency exists in the State of Missouri.nnI further direct the Missouri State Highway Patrol together with the St. Louis County Police Department and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to operate as a Unified Command to protect civil rights and ensure public safety in the City of Ferguson and the St. Louis region.nnI further order that the St. Louis County Police Department shall have command and operational control over security in the City of Ferguson relating to areas of protests, acts of civil disobedience and conduct otherwise arising from such activities.nnI further order that the Unified Command may exercise operational authority in such other jurisdictions it deems necessary to protect civil rights and ensure public safety and that other law enforcement agencies shall assist the Unified Command when so requested and shall cooperate with operational directives of the Unified Command.nnI further order, pursuant to Section 41.480, RSMo, the Adjutant General of the State of Missouri, or his designee, to forthwith call and order into active service such portions of the organized militia as he deems necessary to protect life and property and assist civilian authorities and it is further directed that the Adjutant General or his designee, and through him, the commanding officer of any unit or other organization of such organized militia so called into active service take such action and employ such equipment as may be necessary to carry out requests processed through the Missouri State Highway Patrol and ordered by the Governor of the state to protect life and property and support civilian authorities.nnThis Order shall expire in thirty days unless extended in whole or in part by subsequent Executive Order.nnIN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Missouri, in the City of Jefferson, on this 17th day of November, 2014.nnJeremiah W. The oath taking ceremony was held at presidency where President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath. Justice Nasirul Mulk will remain Chief Justice of Pakistan till August 16 2015 as per his biodata available on the official website of the Supreme Court. Justice Nasirul Mulk belongs to Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and did Barrister-at-Law from the Inner Temple London in 1976 he delivered lecturers in Khyber Law College Peshawar and the Peshawar University besides delivering lectures as Guest Speaker at N.W.F.P. Provincial Services Academy Peshawar. He practiced as an Advocate in all fields of Law for more than 17 Years till his elevation as judge of the Peshawar High Court. He also remained as Chief Justice Peshawar High Court for some time before his elevation as judge of the Supreme Court. He was elected as Secretary General, Peshawar High Court Bar Association in 1981 He was also elected twice as President of High Court Bar Association, Peshawar in 1990 and 1993.
