Abbie Farwell Brown (August 21, 1871 – March 5, 1927) was an American author, Brown was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the first of two daughters of Benjamin F. Brown, a descendant of Isaac Allerton, and Clara Neal Brown, who contributed to The Youth's Companion. Her sister Ethel became an author and illustrator under the name Ann Underhill. Her family, for ten generations, had only resided in New England, and Brown herself spent her entire life in her family's Beacon Hill home. Brown was valedictorian of the Bowdoin School in 1886. She then attended the Girls' Latin School, where she was friends with Josephine Preston Peabody. She was the driving force behind the newly created school newspaper, The Jabberwock, named by Brown after the poem by Lewis Carroll. They wrote to Carroll for permission to use the name and Carroll wrote back, wishing them "all success to the forthcoming magazine". The school, now Boston Latin Academy, still publishes The Jabberwock. After graduating in 1891, she attended Radcliffe College, graduating in 1894. While at Girls' Latin School, she was contributing pieces to St. Nicholas Magazine, some illustrated by her sister. Starting in 1898, under the pen name Jean Neal she wrote articles for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. She also wrote a one-act comedy called Quits (1896) set at a women's college.nnHer first children's book, The Book of Saints and Friendly Beasts (1900) was inspired by her first trip abroad, specifically by the carved choir stalls in Chester Cathedral depicting the life of Saint Werburgh. The book retells Christian stories of the animal encounters of various saints. Brown would write other collections retelling old tales for a contemporary child audience. Her In the Days of Giants (1902) featured stories from Norse mythology and remained a standard text in libraries for several generations. Tales of the Red Children (1909), co-written with James MacIntosh Bell, featured Canadian Indian folklore. Original stories by Brown include The Lonesomest Doll (1901), The Flower Princess (1904), John of the Woods (1909), and The Lucky Stone (1914). She wrote several volumes of children's poetry, including A Pocketful of Posies (1901) and Fresh Posies (1908). Her books of adult poetry, including Heart of New England (1920) and The Silver Stair (1926), were less successful. Brown wrote song lyrics for the Progressive Music Series by Silver, Burdett and Co. She and composer Mabel Wheeler Daniels wrote the song "On the Trail", which became the official song of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Daniels set Brown's war poem "Peace with a Sword" to music and it was performed by the Handel and Haydn Society in 1917. Brown's only juvenile biography was of a composer, The Boyhood of Edward MacDowell (1924). Brown was active in New England literary life. She edited the 20-volume Young Folks Library for the publisher Hall and Locke. She was a member of the Boston Authors' Club, the Boston Drama League, the American Folklore Society, the Poetry Society of America, and was president of the New England Poetry Club. Ask any police officer or prosecuting attorney.nnHere is just some of...nWHAT YOU WERE NEVER TOLD: nnCOURTNEY LOVE WAS FACING A DIVORCE: Kurt was in the process of leaving Seattle and his wife Courtney, when he was found dead. Courtney knew Kurt wanted out of the marriage. Just weeks prior to his death, she asked one of her attorneys to get the "meanest, most vicious divorce lawyer" she could find.nnSOMEONE WAS USING KURT'S CREDIT CARD: One of Kurt's credit cards was missing when his body was discovered. Someone was attempting to use the missing credit card after Cobain died, but the attempts stopped when his body was discovered.nnCOBAIN WAS IN FEAR OF HIS LIFE: The shotgun found at the scene was purchased BEFORE Cobain left for rehab in Los Angeles, NOT AFTER he fled the rehab as reported by misinformed media sources. The shotgun was fully loaded with three shells. It was purchased and loaded for protection, not suicide. The police claim there were no legible fingerprints on this shotgun! The truth is, the shotgun wasn't even checked for fingerprints until May 6th, nearly one month after Cobain's body was found.nnTHERE WAS NO "SUICIDE" NOTE! The note found at the scene by the police was immediately labeled as a "suicide note." The police report states it was "apparently written by Cobain to his wife and daughter, explaining why he had killed himself. But this note was not addressed to Kurt's wife and daughter and it says nothing about "killing himself!" This note was clearly written to Cobain's fans telling them he was quitting the music business. There was only a short footnote to Courtney and Frances and the handwriting contained in those lines has been questioned by several handwriting experts.nnCOURTNEY HAD ANOTHER NOTE SHE KEPT IN SECRET.: Courtney was in possession of a second note after Kurt's body was found! SHE DIDN'T TELL ANYONE about this second note until several months later when information about it slipped out during an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine. The second note, the one that Courtney kept in secret, clearly defines the first note which was found at the scene of Cobain's death. The "second note" from Kurt plainly states he was leaving Courtney and he was leaving Seattle. He was NOT leaving the planet.nnCOBAIN WAS INJECTED WITH 3 TIMES A LETHAL DOSE OF HEROIN! Cobain's heroin, (morphine), blood level was 1.52 mgs per liter. This would require a minimum injection of 225 mgs of heroin, three times a lethal dose, even for a hardcore heroin addict. The drug Diazepam, was also found in Cobain's blood system.nnTHE OBVIOUS QUESTIONS:n1. IF Cobain injected three times a lethal dose of heroin, COULD he then pick up a shotgun and shoot himself? Wouldn't he have been immediately incapacitated? Based on the heroin, (morphine), blood levels found in Cobain's body, preliminary research indicates Kurt Cobain would have been almost immediately incapacitated. He could not have picked up that shotgun. He could not have pulled that trigger!nn2. If Cobain injected himself with a deliberate heroin overdose, why would he ALSO shoot himself in the head with a shotgun, leaving his baby daughter - the love of his life - with horrific visual images to remember him by? Why not just "go to sleep" on the overdose and never wake up?nnIN ADDITION... Cobain was not barricaded inside the room as reported by misinformed media sources. The stool which was supposedly wedged" against the door was actually just sitting in front of the two unlocked doors that only led out to a balcony. Cobain did not leave his Driver's License out for identification as reported by misinformed media sources. The first police officer on the scene found Cobain's closed wallet, opened it to remove Kurt's driver's license, and displayed it in order to take a photograph. The fact is - the police and the Medical Examiner have no forensic evidence that proves Cobain's death was a suicide. On the other hand, there's a substantial amount of evidence for murder. The official verdict of "suicide" was simply a rush to judgement which eventually painted the authorities into a corner as reports of so-called "copy-cat" suicides began making the news. As you examine this case carefully, you're going to discover there's much more to the events surrounding Cobain's death than what you've been told. "Conspiracies" are real. My girls wanted to make a video and so we did. Well worth the effort. This project also fulfills a Faith in God achievement. This is a two meeting project. If someone in the ward is handy with a video camera, get them to be your camera person!n nSupplies for SetsnnLarge Recycled Cardboard or Display Boards for backgroundn1 or to sheets of form core from dollar store nCut outs found in the Friends magazines on the official church website printed at home on card-stocknbamboo meat skewers nAcrylic paints and brushesnColored pencils or crayons as needed.nScissorsnGlue and scotch tapenAnything else that goes with the story you want to tell.nnSupplies for filming videonnVideo camera of some type. I used the one on my Samsung tablet. nTripod or table stand to hold camera steady. I brought a very inexpensive tripod adapter for my tablet from Amazon. nTable and table cover of some sort in an earth color (green or brown) to place set on.nTwo clamp lights attached to chairs and extension cords if needed.nMovie Maker free editor that came on my computer (I quickly learned how to use it looking up some tutorials on YouTube. I have Movie Maker Live version.)nPrimary music downloaded from official church websitenCopies of your script for each girl and yourselfnnFirst Meeting – Making the SetnnLeader Prep - As the leader I had this planned well in advance. Write a script. The script was 2 and ½ pages one sided, including description of scene changes. Get background. The cardboard was from a display ad that a business was throwing out which they kindly gave to me after asking for it. I painted the blue sky on front and the black on the back for a night time scene before the meeting. Cut out the mountain from form core. I went to the official church website and looked through the Friends magazines and found figures I could use as cut outs. I printed out the figures on card stock on my home printer. Send home script with girls to practice reading.nnDay of meeting – The girls painted the mountain, cut out the figures, sun and trees, colored the ones that needed to be colored, glued the cotton balls on for clouds, and added sticky foil stars to the back for the night scene.nnAfter meeting – I cut stands out for the figures from form core. Need two squares of form core taped together to make a stand. Push, cut and adjust skews on form core to fit one or more figures and then tape figures to skewers. Do the same for trees or anything else you may add to a scene. The more 3-D and moveable the better. Our sun in our set went up and down by pulling fishing line looped threw holes on the background.nnSecond Meeting – Get set ready on the table before girls show up. Set up any lighting if necessary. Set camera up in center front of display. Have figures ready on another table to change out. Make sure girls face directly at microphone or speakers on your device when reading their parts. Have extra copies of the script for girls to read from. Watch the timing numbers on the display screen of your device to make sure your are recording or not. Have girls take turns changing out each scene. It took 1 hour to record 6 minutes of video including the bloopers.nnFinal Video Prep – Make backup copies first! Used free Movie Maker Live that came on my computer to edit video. I quickly learned to use Movie Maker by watching YouTube videos. Used clamp lights on chairs for lighting. I downloaded primary songs to add to video using Movie Maker.nnHave Fun!   Less

During 1983, some members of The Royal Ballet approached Robert Smith after they’d seen THE CURE performing on 'The Pornography' tour. They were looking for a band that could play modern music with an atmospheric edge to it. The idea was a stage show that would merge classical dance movements with the 'contemporary' music, and in which both conventional classical, orchestral instruments and modern, electronic ones would be used. Smith accepted and started scoring allegedly an adaptation of Jean Cocteau’s 'Les Enfants Terribles' that was supposed to be divided in three parts and by June of that year, he’d already written the two of them, but found it hard going on. "I’ll have to finish it in my sleep with all the things I’ve got coming up" Smith quoted in an interview with Dave Rimmer for UK magazine Smash Hits (issue October 29, 1983). So, the project never came to fruition but while still in the process, as a pretaste of it, on 02 July 1983 THE CURE appeared on 'Riverside' BBC2 TV programme performing their song "Siamese Twins" with Steven Severin of SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES on bass in the place of original member Simon Gallup who had temporarily left THE CURE after falling out with Robert Smith. I've never been a fan of the culture and whenever I go to the gym occasionally, I always get a shallow and empty vibe there where most of the people who go are only doing it for superficial reasons or because they want to be more attractive to the opposite sex, instead of doing it for themselves. I'm also wondering just how much females are attracted to muscular guys in the first place, whether there's a whole lot of basis in reality or if it's exaggerated? I'm in my 20s and not totally redpill and still interested in dating. However, I'm average height here in Australia at 5'9 but only weigh 146 lbs. I'm insecure about my physique and conflicted on what I should do as something also tells me muscle mass is not as important as what most men believe. It also seems that gay men are attracted to muscular guys more than women are. Do you have any advice for me Sandman? especially as I don't like being skinny (regardless of how attractive I'm perceived by females) but like you say, bodybuilding decreases your lifespan? I've lifted a lot of weights already but I have a hard time bulking up. Perhaps I don't have the genetics for it? I notice a lot of younger guys, especially teenagers, with body image issues. Male body image has become almost as bad as female body image. If someone genuinely enjoys bodybuilding, or they want to play sports then fine, otherwise most of it could be unnecessary and like you say, unhealthy. When I was younger I would lift and exercise for about one hour each and every single day. When I began I was toothpick skinny entering high school. I didn't do it to play sports. I did it because I was sick and tired of being picked on, bullied and pushed around. When I turned fourteen for Christmas I got a weight set from my parents. Two adjustable dumbbells and one big bar with two twenty-five pound weights. The last thing I wanted to do was go to the gym and look like a fool. So I started working out at home. And when I returned to high school that fall people tried picking on me and I fought them and beat them up. So at that point I didn't receive any attention from guys trying to pick on me. But all of a sudden female attention came my way. I was popular with women. But I didn't continue to work out because of that. I still worked out because of the fear of other guys attacking me. So year after year I got bigger and bigger. At a reception he meets a group of other promising math and science graduate students, Richard Sol (Adam Goldberg), Ainsley (Jason Gray-Stanford), and Bender (Anthony Rapp). He also meets his roommate Charles Herman (Paul Bettany), a literature student, and an unlikely friendship begins.rnNash comes under increasing pressure to publish, both from the mathematics department chairman and in the form of rivalry with Hansen. But he refuses until he finds a truly original idea. His inspiration comes when he and his fellow graduate students discuss how to approach a group of women at a bar. Hansen quotes Adam Smith and advocates "every man for himself", but Nash argues that a cooperative approach would lead to better chances of success. This leads to a new concept of governing dynamics which Nash develops and publishes. On the strength of this he is offered an appointment at MIT where Sol and Bender join him.rnSome years later, Nash is invited to the Pentagon to crack encrypted enemy telecommunication. Nash is able to decipher the code mentally, to the astonishment of other codebreakers. He considers his regular duties at MIT uninteresting and beneath his talents, so he is pleased to be given a new assignment by the mysterious William Parcher (Ed Harris) of the United States Department of Defense, to look for patterns in magazines and newspapers in order to thwart a Soviet plot. Nash becomes increasingly obsessive about searching for these hidden patterns and believes he is followed when he delivers his results to a secret mailbox.rnMeanwhile a student, Alicia Larde (Jennifer Connelly), asks him to dinner, and the two fall in love. On a return visit to Princeton, Nash runs into his former roommate Charles and meets Charles' young niece Marcee (Vivien Cardone), whom he adores. With Charles' encouragement he proposes to Alicia and they marry.rnNash begins to fear for his life after witnessing a shootout between Parcher and Soviet agents. He tells Parcher that he wants to quit his special assignment but Parcher blackmails him into staying. While delivering a guest lecture at Harvard University, Nash attempts to flee from what appear to be foreign agents, but he is forcibly sedated and sent to a psychiatric facility. He believes the facility is run by the Soviets who are trying to extract information from him.rnNash's doctor, Dr. Rosen (Christopher Plummer) tells Alicia that he has schizophrenia and that Charles, Marcee and Parcher only exist in Nash's imagination. Alicia investigates and finally confronts Nash with the unopened documents he had delivered to the secret mailbox. Nash is given a course of insulin shock therapy and eventually released. Frustrated with the side-effects of the antipsychotic medication he is taking, he secretly stops taking it. But this causes a relapse and he meets Parcher again.rnAfter an incident where Nash endangers his infant son and accidentally knocks Alicia and the baby to the ground, she flees the house in fear with their child. Nash steps in front of her car to prevent her from leaving. He tells Alicia, "She never gets old", referring to Marcee, who although years have passed since their first encounter, has remained exactly the same age and is still a little girl. With this, he finally accepts that although all three people seem real, they are in fact part of his hallucinations. Against Dr. Rosen's advice, Nash decides not to restart his medication, believing that he can deal with his symptoms in another way. Alicia decides to stay and support him in this.rnNash approaches his old friend and rival, Martin Hansen, now head of the Princeton mathematics department, who grants him permission to work out of the library and audit classes. Years pass and as Nash grows older he learns to ignore his hallucinations. "Church (Part Of Someone)" is from Stills' self-titled album released on November 16, 1970 on Atlantic Records. The album reached #3 on the Billboard album chart on December 5, 1970 and was certified Gold. Its first track "Love The One You're With" peaked at #14 on the Billboard singles charts and "Sit Yourself Down" went to #37. Stills composed all the songs on the album but had a number of well-known artists assist him on various tracks; Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, David Crsoby, Graham Nash, John Sebastian, Ringo Starr, Booker T. Jones, Cass Elliot, Rita Coolidge, to name a few. Stills dedicated the album to James Marshall Hendrix whom he had been close friends with prior to Hendrix's guitar work in the recording of "Old Times Good Times." Hendrix died on September 18, 1970 and therefore never heard the completed album.nnStills, born January 3, 1945, was in several start-up bands in the early 60s. When he was 19 yrs-old he joined the Au Go Go singers which was the house band at the famous Cafe Au Go Go in New York City. There he met Richie Furay, his future bandmate of Buffalo Springfield which was formed in April 1966 with Stills, Richie Furay, Dewey Martin, Bruce Palmer and Neil Young. Their first album released December 5, 1966 created the #7 Billboard hit "For What It's Worth." Capote also became familiar with the petty criminals who killed the Clutter family, Dick Hickock (Mark Pellegrino) and Perry Smith (Clifton Collins Jr.), and in Smith he found a troubling kindred spirit more like himself than he wanted to admit. After attaining a sort of friendship with Smith under the assumption that the man would be executed before the book was ever published, Capote finds himself forced to directly confront the moral implications of his actions with regards to both his role in the man's death, and the way that he would be remembered. "Please Please Me", the debut album by the Beatles was released on 22 March 1963.nnOf the album's fourteen songs, eight were written by Lennon--McCartney (originally credited "McCartney--Lennon"), early evidence of what Rolling Stone later called "[their invention of] the idea of the self-contained rock band, writing their own hits and playing their own instruments". In 2012, "Please Please Me" was voted 39th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".nnIn order for the album to contain fourteen songs (the norm for British 12" vinyl pop albums at that time was to have seven songs on each side, while American albums usually had only five or six songs per side) ten more tracks were needed to add to the four sides of their first two singles recorded and released previously. Therefore, at 10:00 am on Monday, 11 February 1963, the Beatles and George Martin started recording what was essentially their live act in 1963, and finished 585 minutes later (9 hours and 45 minutes). In three sessions that day (each lasting approximately three hours) they produced an authentic representation of the band's Cavern Club-era sound, as there were very few overdubs and edits. Optimistically, only two sessions were originally booked by Martin—the evening session was added later.nnMartin had initially contemplated recording the album live at the Cavern in front of the group's home audience and visited the Liverpool club on 9 December 1962 to consider the technicalities. But when time constraints intervened, he decided to book them at EMI Studios in Abbey Road instead and record them virtually live. Martin said, "It was a straightforward performance of their stage repertoire — a broadcast, more or less."nnThe day ended with a cover of "Twist and Shout", which had to be recorded last because John Lennon had a particularly bad cold and Martin feared the throat-shredding vocal would ruin Lennon's voice for the day. This performance, captured on the first take, prompted Martin to say: "I don't know how they do it. We've been recording all day but the longer we go on the better they get."nnThe whole day's session cost around £400 (£10,000 as of 2013). George Martin said: "There wasn't a lot of money at Parlophone. I was working to an annual budget of £55,000." This budget had to cover all of the artists on Martin's roster. Individually, under a contract with the Musicians' Union, each Beatle collected a seven pounds and ten shillings (£7.50) session fee for each three-hour session.nnMartin considered calling the album "Off the Beatle Track" before "Please Please Me" was released on Parlophone PCS 3042. The album was recorded on a two-track BTR tape recording machine, with most of the instrumentation on one track and the vocals on the other, allowing for a better balance between the two on the final quarter-inch tape mix-down in mono. A stereo mix was made at the same time as the mono mix, with one track on the left channel and the other on the right, as well as an added layer of reverb to better blend the two tracks together. At first when people started talking about Netflix binging I thought that would be a bad term for Netflix. It sounds very pathological and I don't know if that sounds very healthy and fun. But it actually took hold and we went with the flow. We didn't invent the term but we do lead to people binging through lots of TV shows. To us binging is really about consumer control. It's not about someone telling you you only get one hour a week and we're going to slowly parse it out of the story that you're enjoying, hold on our scenes from next week; tune in next Sunday at 8:00. It's not about that. It's about giving the control back to the consumer here's the whole story now watch as much as you want.nnYou know, it's been I think 170 years since anyone published a book, maybe there are examples online but it's very rare where they go we're only giving you one chapter and next week we'll give you the next chapter. They give you the whole book. You can read as much as you want or as little as you want on any given day and that's fine and that's the way TV should be. Give me the whole freaking story and then I can watch as much or as little as I want. So with that has led to some interesting behaviors. Yes, there are people when we release a show, whether a new season of Orange is the New Black comes out or House of Cards or Narcos, people will, there is a tiny minority of people who will just binge through to the whole thing in the exact amount of time from the second we launch it at midnight California time 13 hours later or however many hours are in the show they'll exactly finish. And that's a tiny percent.nnMost people watch two to three episodes in an evening, sometimes longer on weekends. And it really depends on the show and it really depends on the consumer. Because what you might consider binging and what I might consider binging – because what you might consider binging and what I might consider binging could be two very different things. Me it could be a crazy binge to watch two whole episode oh my God in one night, and you might be binge, it's like seven episodes in a night. If I don't go to sleep at 3:00 a.m. and I'm falling asleep in front of the TV and practically drooling on the side of my mouth then I haven't really done a full all out binge.   Less

Say you were waiting for Weird Al to come out from backstage after a show. And then suddenly he does, and all of a sudden it seems like all the people around you multiply exponentially. And as far as you can see, you're surrounded by people. And all of them start to press forward. And you, against your own will, are propelled forward. And you're pushed into the person in front of you, and you propel them forward. And you stop and think, "Uh oh!"nnWell if you thought that, you were thinking very clearly. Because you were in a very dangerous situation: something called a high density crowd. A high density crowd is one where there's 6 or more people per square meter. It can get a lot more packed than that, but that's the lowest level threshold. The reason that's the threshold is because, when you have 6 people per square meter, individuals in the crowd start to lose their ability to move on their own accord. Things get more and more packed, and the crowd tends to behave a lot like a fluid.nnSo there's a couple of ways that you can actually die in a high density crowd. The first one is called a crowd crush. When you first start to get to about 6 people per square meter, the individuals lose their ability to move around. The next step is that you lose your ability to move your arms from your sides. And as people pack in further and further, the pressure from all sides keeps your lungs from inflating and deflating, which means you lose your ability to breathe.nnWhat's amazing (and horrific) is that people suffocate in crowds because they're squeezed so tightly by the people pressing against them. That's a crowd crush.nnAnother way you can die in a crowd is what's called progressive crowd collapse. So, say you have a bunch of people crowded together in a high density crowd. And one of them falls down. That creates a hole in this crowd, and the people who were formerly leaning against this person who just fell down start to fall down. And so on and so forth. A domino effect is created. People start to pile up and the ones on the bottom are literally pressed to death by the humans who have piled up on top them.nnSo why don't people just get up and go, get out of the crowd? Well, the short answer is, they can't.nnOne mark for humanity is that crowd researchers have shown that when individuals are given information - say, something like, "Oh, someone ahead is being crushed to death" - they respond positively by, say, backing up and alleviating the pressure on the crowd in front. nnThe problem is humans aren't ants. We don't transmit information through crowds like ants do. And so people end up dying in crowd crushes and progressive crowd collapses because the people in the back are pushing forward.nnAnother common misconception are mass panics and stampedes. There's this idea that people stampede over one another and that's how deaths occur in crowd crushes. This is really off point. In fact, if you have enough room to rush out over your fellow humans to get from Point A to Point B, there's probably enough room for those fellow humans to get out of the way. So, stampedes really don't cost any lives whatsoever. That's not the problem with crowd crushes.nnAnd the same with mass panics. Very rarely do entire crowds panic and move in a panicked way. In fact, you can suffocate in a crowd crush in a very calm crowd that's just entered a bottleneck in a narrow corridor, and trying to get out of an exit. People just quietly die pinned up against their fellow human beings who are leaving the place.nnWhat do you do if you find yourself in a crowd? Well, get out. That's the best thing you can do. But, as you're entering a crowd, crowd researchers suggest that you pay attention, stop talking, and listen ahead for people calling for help, or saying "Move back!" or any other indication that there's a crowd crush going on. In that case, get back as far as you can. nnIf you find yourself in a crowd, and it starts to surge forward, follow the crowd movement, but move to the side as much as possible. Just stay out of crowds. The man on the phone vigorously defending Donald Trump says he’s a media spokesman named John Miller, but then he says, “I’m sort of new here,” and “I’m somebody that he knows and I think somebody that he trusts and likes” and even “I’m going to do this a little, part-time, and then, yeah, go on with my life.”nnA recording obtained by The Washington Post captures what New York reporters and editors who covered Trump’s early career experienced in the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s: calls from Trump’s Manhattan office that resulted in conversations with “John Miller” or “John Barron” — public-relations men who sound precisely like Trump himself — who indeed are Trump, masquerading as an unusually helpful and boastful advocate for himself, according to the journalists and several of Trump’s top aides.nnIn 1991, Sue Carswell, a reporter at People magazine, called Trump’s office seeking an interview with the developer. She had just been assigned to cover the soap opera surrounding the end of Trump’s 12-year marriage to Ivana, his budding relationship with the model Marla Maples and his rumored affairs with any number of celebrities who regularly appeared on the gossip pages of the New York newspapers.nnWithin five minutes, Carswell got a return call from Trump’s publicist, a man named John Miller, who immediately jumped into a startlingly frank and detailed explanation of why Trump dumped Maples for the Italian model Carla Bruni. “He really didn’t want to make a commitment,” Miller said. “He’s coming out of a marriage, and he’s starting to do tremendously well financially.”nSuggested from Windows StorennnMiller turned out to be a remarkably forthcoming source — a spokesman with rare insight into the private thoughts and feelings of his client. “Have you met him?” Miller asked the reporter. “He’s a good guy, and he’s not going to hurt anybody. . . . Today, as the presumptive Republican nominee for president faces questions about his attitudes toward women, what stands out to some who received those calls is Trump’s characterization of women who he portrayed as drawn to him sexually.nn“Actresses,” Miller said in the call to Carswell, “just call to see if they can go out with him and things.” Madonna “wanted to go out with him.” And Trump’s alter ego boasted that in addition to living with Maples, Trump had “three other girlfriends.”nnMiller was consistent about referring to Trump as “he,” but at one point, when asked how important Bruni was in Trump’s busy love life, the spokesman said, “I think it’s somebody that — you know, she’s beautiful. I saw her once, quickly, and beautiful . . . ” and then he quickly pivoted back into talking about Trump — then a 46-year-old father of three — in the third person.nnIn 1990, Trump testified in a court case that “I believe on occasion I used that name.” He did not respond to a request for comment for this article.nnIn a phone call to NBC’s “Today” program Friday morning, Trump denied that he was John Miller. “No, I don’t think it — I don’t know anything about it. You’re telling me about it for the first time and it doesn’t sound like my voice at all,” he said. “I have many, many people that are trying to imitate my voice and then you can imagine that, and this sounds like one of the scams, one of the many scams — doesn’t sound like me.” Later, he was more definitive: “It was not me on the phone. And it doesn’t sound like me on the phone, I will tell you that, and it was not me on the phone. And when was this? Twenty-five years ago?”nnTrump has never been terribly adamant about denying that he often made calls to reporters posing as someone else nA “John Baron,” described as a “vice-president of the Trump organization,” appeared in a front-page New York Times article as early as 1980, defending Trump’s decision to destroy sculptures on the facade of the Bonwit Teller department store building, the Fifth Avenue landmark he was demolishing to make way for his Trump Tower. Originally delivered to Shelby’s Venice, California, facility in December 1964, it was completed on March 17, 1965, soon after the opening of Shelby’s new facility at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), making it one of the first GT350s completed there.nnIts provenance is well documented in the Shelby Registry, which notes the entire owner history that includes a number of prominent Shelby collectors who recognized the value of the early GT350s, including Roger Saxton of Gilbert, Arizona, who bought the car in March 1989. Saxton commissioned a Concours-quality restoration that was completed by Sports Car Service Center in Tempe, Arizona, with paint by the legendary Squeeg’s Kustoms in nearby Chandler.nnThe completed GT350 was then featured in the February 1992 issue of “Mustang Illustrated” magazine. More than two decades later, it remains in extraordinary condition, a point Joe McMurrey employs to illustrate his preference for older restorations. “There are two reasons for that. First, they are more likely to use NOS rather than reproduction parts; second, it will show off all the flaws the years have brought out. And this car is virtually perfect. Every show it’s been in, it has won first place. The ’65 is the most desirable, the lowest number produced of any year, and the ‘double digit’ cars are the most valued because they come closest to the power and feel of the race cars.”nnThe dedicated Shelby enthusiast will note the features that distinguish the earliest GT350s: the original all-fiberglass hood with round intake hole and mesh screen, springless hinges and prop rod; trunk-mounted battery and 16-inch 9-rivet wood-rimmed steering wheel. Common to all GT350s, of course, were the export brace and Monte Carlo bar, K-code 289/306 HP “Hi-Po” engine with Holley 715 CFM 4-barrel carburetor, Cobra “small letter” aluminum intake manifold, finned aluminum Cobra valve covers and oil pan, Tri-Y headers and side exhaust. The lowered front suspension, override traction bars, Koni shocks, 5-spoke Shelby/Cragar wheels, and aluminum-case Hurst-shifted Borg Warner 4-speed that were standard to the ’65 are also present, as are the original dash-mounted horn button and 3-inch competition lap belts.nnEspecially noteworthy by virtue of its March 1965 completion at the then-new LAX facility, this early-production GT350 was invoiced on March 22, 1965 to Lynch-Davidson Motors in Jacksonville, Florida, and re-invoiced to Downtown Motors in Sacramento, California, where it was sold new to its first owner. Significantly, the Ford Mustang serial number on this GT350 corresponds with Shelby American factory records, and the car will be offered with documentation that includes copies of two Shelby LAX invoices, two shipping invoices, warranty repair invoices and the owner’s manual autographed by Carroll Shelby. Ride along with us as we take Polaris’ reverse trike out for a dash down Angeles Crest Highway in the San Gabriel Mountains outside of Los Angeles. The folks from Polaris say that the impetus to create the Slingshot came from their desire to build a vehicle that could cause a “paradigm shift” in the automotive market. While that certainly has the air of PR hyperbole, it’s not unlike the motivating factors behind the Cam Am Spyder from a few years ago (which is also a reverse trike), and the Slingshot is arguably more successful at that mission.n nBut the driver sits in the Slingshot rather than on top of it, and when paired with the Polaris’ side by side seating configuration, traditional steering wheel, three pedals on the floor and a shifter in the center console, the experience from behind the wheel feels more like an open cockpit car rather than a motorcycle.nnDimensionally, the Slingshot sports a 105 inch wheelbase, stands 51.9 inches tall and 77.6 inches wide, while the front track measures 69 inches and the Slingshot rides just 5 inches off the ground.n nThe trike’s tubular steel frame, minimal bodywork and bare-bones cockpit not only contribute to its 1700 pound curb weight, they also allow it to retain some aspects of what makes motorcycles engaging and unique. The windscreen provided on the top-spec SL model does help deflect insects and random debris from meeting your helmet, but otherwise it’s very clear that you’re outside while piloting the Slingshot – you see, hear and smell everything around you at all times. The linkyou sent me I'm putting in the description and leads to a Fox News video about a former professor from the University of Missouri called Melissa Click. She was caught on camera telling a student journalist that he wasn't allowed to film a group of students and professors on the university campus. Her words of course are against the first amendment right in the United States with regards to freedom of speech. Originally she was suspended after the incident for a year because it was considered a misdemeanor assault and she also had to do community service. But damn now she's back at it again with the those white vans assaulting police officers and the footage was captured on a police officers body cam. She uses profanity against the cops and shows once again that she has no respect for the law unless of course it's on her side. She was also an assistant professor and can you just imagine how bad the actual professors really are. Click was fired but I'm sure she'll be back at it again like Daniel. This incident mirrors closely what I experienced while I was in university. I want to talk about my own experience with Feminist Professors back in the late nineties when they were just warming up back then. I think that's around the time they figured out how to tape their breasts down and started shoving bananas down the front of their pants to look more sporty and masculine. I was taking a fine arts degree and created a controversial assignment for one of my classes. Because my project had a religious element to it using old testament scriptures they tried throwing me out of school because I took biblical scriptures and put them over old images from magazines in the 1980s. My professors taught me that artists are the shit disturbers attacking the status quo and the establishment by creating art that's controversial and pisses people off. So that's exactly what I did and where did it get me. They called the cops on my and tried throwing me out of college for hate crimes for using bible quotes. I had to sit in a meeting with my faculty head, my professor as well as a representative for the nDean of the University in an informal tribunal and I had to prove to them that I wasn't going to share what they considered propaganda to anyone out there that might use my images in a negative way. I had to sit there in front of mostly women and defend my politically incorrect actions.
