Artist: GOH vs. Sugarstarr feat. Redman & Method MannTitle: I Used To BenLabel: Milk & Sugar RecordingsnRelease Date: 8th August 2014nnSUBSCRIBE TO MILK & SUGAR:nhttp://bit.ly/18ajhjHnnnGOH vs Sugarstarr is a one-off collaboration between a bunch of DJs from across Germany, and the nlegendary US Rap-Star Redman. On the one hand side - the debut of the new combo GOH which is headed nby Mauro Mondello, Slick, Tam-R and Giulio, and even Redman as "the voice". On the other hand side Sugarstarr - nknown as the one half of the worldtouring DJ-Duo Syke'n'Sugarstarr. nnThe result - "I Used To Be". A mellow & funk driven housetune with a stunning female vocal-hook in a typical Aretha Franklinnmanner, guided by Redman's distinctive and typical rap performance. And - if it's not enough - even his fabulous buddy Method Man nis on board as well to garnish this brandnew release and make it an outstanding summertune. nnIt was back in early 2013 that the german DJs Slick, Tam-R, Giulio, and studio wizzard Mauro Mondello startednto team-up with Redman to create a band-project that was themed to combine housemusic with Hip Hop elements in na new way. The 'Gorillaz On Haze' were born. But how did these guys got together?Slick, who was touring as a HipHop DJnfor one of Germany's biggest Radiostations BigFM, shared the stage with Redman one day and straightly pulled him ninto the studio where the other guys were already waiting with a string of playbacks that needed that special extra. And nReggie was infected by the guys' bits and able to deliver it in a prestigious cool way, that is rare to find in these days. nnHis background is history. The years he spent with DefSquad and the legendary Wu Tang Clan brought him to the next nlevel in the Rap-Biz. In the mid 90s Red was signed to Def Jam Rec. as well as his brother in crime/law (?) - Method Man. Both nwere sharing stages and the studio with Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., and got featured on worlclass recordings nalong with Missy Elliott, Naughty By Nature, Cypress Hill, EPMD, LL Cool J. and many more. nnBack to "I Used To Be", which is their latest coup. But this time - in an unusual genre for Red & Meth, as they're nshortly named. It's Housemusic. And it comes funky & soulful, and slightly deep as well. Not typical for an EastcoastnRap-Artist... But the guys were straightly infected by the track ideas these german DJs had inpetto. Especiallynthe idea to bring out this catchy Female Vocal Hook in conjunction with their HipHop verses. nnMid of 2013 the GOH guys got fortuitously in touch with Sugarstarr, the one half of Syke'n'Sugarstarr, who are worldwidenknown for their hits singles such as "Ticket 2 Ride", "No Love Lost", "Are You Watching...", "Danz" and many more. nSugarstarr recognized the potential that these guys have, especially the idea around "I Used To Be". He straightlynformed a concept around this track to bring it out with them big way. No detail should be missed to make this pearl come nas something special, that is softly kicking-off a new era in housemusic. nn'I Used To Be' has just been signed to Milk&Sugar Recordings, an authentic source when it comes to releasing quality & nfunky Housemusic.nn(p) + (c) 2014 Milk & Sugar RecordingsnnFollow Milk & Sugarnhttp://facebook.com/milksugarnhttp://soundcloud.com/milk_and_sugarnhttp://twitter.com/Milk_and_Sugarnhttp://residentadvisor.net/dj/milksugarnhttp://instagram.com/milkandsugar_nnFollow Milk & Sugar Recordingsnhttp://facebook.com/milksugarrecordingsnhttp://soundcloud.com/milkandsugarrecordingsnhttp://youtube.com/milksugarrecordingsnhttp://residentadvisor.net/record-label.aspx?id=2771 Less
