A small (and very quickly made) demonstration of the famous wagon-wheel effect.nnHOW DOES IT WORK?nThis illusion only occurs when the rotating disc is recorded with a camera. Depending on how far each spoke travels between the camera snapshots, the movement follows. If the inner wheel has a speed lower than 288 rpm (or 4,8 revolutions/second) it will seem to rotate backwards. The camera captured 24 fps.nnTo calculate the speed of rotation, one's got to consider how many spokes there are and the frame rate of the camera. Imagine that a wheel has five spokes. To remain stationary, the spokes must travel a fifth of a rotation between the camera's shots. This means that the wheel rotates 0,2 r*24 fps=4,8 rps. Rotations per second is then converted to rpm: 4,8 rps*60=288 rpm. If it moves slower, the spokes "don't make it" to the position needed for the wheel to look stationary. This means that it seems to move in the direction opposite to the rotation of the wheel. The wheel seems to move in the "correct" direction if the rpm is higher than 288. But since the "stationary effect" also occurs at 576 rpm (the spokes skip two steps), increasing the rpm from 288, it accelerates, decelerates and accelerates in the opposite direction and then back to a full stop. If x=432 ((3*288)/2), it has reached its dual point. I moves clockwise and counter clockwise at the same time with equal velocity. It stops. This is the point between "decelerates and accelerates in the opposite direction". Just finished building the Dinky Woodmans trailer for the LR3. Also put my Jeep 5 spoke wheels on it. The alu wheels looks super, but the Rock Crusher 1.9 tires are a bit big, even after grinding max amount off the fenders. The car have farly good articulation/flex and the tires only rubb the body on max turn + extrem terrain-angle. This is the LR3 from Rastar 1/10 (not New Bright - maybe exact same size) - The Rock Crushers are 108mm dia, so I think ie the Out Croppers 1.9 with 102mm would be perfect as max dim tires for the Rastar body. The trailer is quite nice, but not extremly rugged. Comes very basic, in unpainted plastic pieces without hubs, barings, tires, lightbuckets or lightcovers/"glass". Really starting to look forward to rocks, grawel and MUD! :)   Less

So here is another amazing car at GC Motors. This is an Audi R8 V10, painted in Ibis White, possibly the nicest colour for an R8, the V10 Coupe anyway. This car had the original diamond cut y-spoke wheels, which look a lot cooler than the standard V8 wheels and make it stand out more in my opinion, and there is the carbon fibre rear section and sideblades of course. The V10 also has different headlights to the V8, and 2 front slats instead of 3, and 2 rear slats instead of 4. The main change of course though is the 525BHP V10 engine, same as the one used in the Gallardo, but not quite as powerful. This car also has oval exhaust tips, which look nicer than the 4 tailpipes on the V8 R8. Inside it is a beautiful car as well, it is very well equipped and everything is leather or aluminium pretty much. This R8 had the R-Tronic automatic gearbox, and the bang and olufson sound system. The seats, dashboard, dials and centre console are very good too, and the best bit about being in the R8 is having that glorious V10 right behind you. This is quite a car, one of the best cars in stock at GC Motors at the time, truly awesome.
