George Zimmerman's frequently controversial Twitter behavior appears to have actually caused his account to get suspended, following his posts of apparent nudes of an alleged ex-girlfriend. Zimmerman accuses this alleged ex-partner of cheating on him with, according to his own tweet, "a dirty Muslim." Another tweet also included a phone number "with a Kentucky area code," according to the Daily Dot, who placed a call to the number and confirmed it appeared to belong to the woman named in one of the tweets.nnIn addition to clearly violating Twitter’s abusive behavior policy, which strictly bans the sharing of "intimate photos" without the subject’s consent, some argue that the posts may have broken the law. nnHowever, according to Dr. Mary Anne Franks, this "probably doesn’t qualify" as the images in question aren’t "quite" nude. The possibility of a civil suit from the alleged ex-girlfriend, however, reportedly remains a possibility: "If he, as many abusers do, is publishing false statements about her—in this case related to promiscuity and theft—he could be liable under civil defamation laws," Carrie Goldberg, a New York lawyer specializing in revenge-porn incidents, tells the Dot. "Not to mention other privacy laws that may apply."nnZimmerman, of course, has remained a controversial figure since being acquitted in 2013 of second-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.nnSubscribe to Complex for More: http://goo.gl/PJeLOlnCheck out more of Complex here:nhttp://www.complex.comnhttps://twitter.com/ComplexMagnhttps://www.facebook.com/complexnhttp://instagram.com/complexmagnhttps://plus.google.com/+complex/nnCOMPLEX is a community of creators and curators, armed with the Internet, committed to surfacing and sharing the voices and conversations that define our new America.
