The RPG-7 (Russian: РПГ-7) is a portable, unguided, shoulder-launched, anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade launcher. Originally the RPG-7 (Ручной Противотанковый Гранатомёт – Ruchnoy Protivotankovyy Granatomyot, Hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher) and its predecessor, the RPG-2, was designed by the Soviet Union; it is now manufactured by the Russian company Bazalt. The weapon has the GRAU index 6G3. The English-language term "rocket-propelled grenade", though frequently encountered and reasonably descriptive, is a backronym for "RPG" and not based on a literal translation. The ruggedness, simplicity, low cost, and effectiveness of the RPG-7 has made it the most widely used anti-armor weapon in the world. Currently around 40 countries use the weapon, and it is manufactured in a number of variants by nine countries. It is also popular with irregular and guerrilla forces, such as the Provisional IRA. The RPG has been used in almost all conflicts across all continents since the mid-1960s from the Vietnam War to the early 2010s War in Afghanistan. Widely-produced, the most commonly seen major variations are the RPG-7D paratrooper model (able to be broken into two parts for easier carrying), and the lighter Chinese Type 69 RPG. DIO of Iran manufactures RPG-7s with olive green handguards, H&K pistol grips, and a Commando variant. The RPG-7 was first delivered to the Soviet Army in 1961 and deployed at a squad level. It replaced the RPG-2, having clearly out-performed the intermediate RPG-4 design during testing. The current model produced by Russia is the RPG-7V2, capable of firing standard and dual high explosive anti-tank (HEAT) rounds, high explosive/fragmentation, and thermobaric warheads(see below), with a UP-7V sighting device fitted (used in tandem with the standard 2.7x PGO-7 optical sight) to allow the use of extended range ammunition. Shaun Wright headed children’s services at Rotherham Council between 2005 and 2010 when the abuse was going on, before becoming South Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner. “The fact is that when he was a cabinet member of children’s services in Rotherham there were three, not one, two, but three reports, which highlighted the situation and nothing was done about it,” said Colin Ross, leader of the Liberal Democratic group on Sheffield Council. “How many of those victims could have been spared if action had been taken – robust action had been taken – by Rotherham Council? Shaun Wright was in the position to influence that decision,” he said. Police are also being blamed for failing to protect children as young as 11 who were groomed, threatened and raped by multiple sexual predators – mostly described as of Asian origin. Victims were white girls. An independent report into the abuse, between 1997 and 2013, found that council staff were afraid of being labelled ‘racist’. The area has been hit by several tremors over the past week. The level red code means that an eruption is imminent or underway with a significant emission of ash likely. Describing the oil giant’s role in the disaster, a US judge in a civil case has ruled that BP was “grossly negligent and “reckless”. The case follows an earlier criminal prosecution, which saw the company plead guilty to 14 criminal charges. A rig explosion caused the biggest offshore spill in US history which lasted almost three months and affected several states’ coastlines. US Attorney General Eric Holder said the prosecution would send a strong message to industrial giants. “This case, which was vigorously pursued by the United States’ stellar legal team, marks another significant step forward in the Justice Department’s continuing efforts to seek justice on behalf of the American people for this disaster; And we are confident that this will work as a strong deterrent to anyone who is tempted to sacrifice safety and the environment in the pursuit of profit.” BP has already been fined about $42 billion in other legal cases and has vowed to appeal this ruling which puts most of the blame for the tragedy on the company. According to Biggs, the Vice President of the Border Patrol Council was reportedly silenced by Federal administrators and told to keep quiet about the possibility of Islamic State militants organizing for an attack within the domestic United States. For their part, the Obama Administration completely denied the reports. On Tuesday DHS issued the following statement: “There is no credible intelligence to suggest that there is an active plot by ISIL to attempt to cross the southern border” But less than 48 hours later the Gateway Pundit reports that the U.S. government did, in fact, apprehend four suspected terrorists with ties to the IS organization on the border. Congressman Jason Chaffetz broke this shocking news Wednesday that four known terrorists were apprehended at the US border in Texas on September 10 – the day before the 13th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. Chaffetz questioned Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson on whether he is “aware of any apprehensions of suspected or known terrorists.” Johnson dodged the question. Tonight, Rep. Chaffetz told Megyn Kelly there were four terrorists arrested crossing the US border in Texas on September 10. “There were actually four individuals trying to cross through the Texas border, who were apprehended at two different stations, that do have ties to known terrorist organizations in the Middle East.” According to a report from Fox News on Wednesday evening, additional credible threats have been identified and they are looking to strike Americans inside of the U.S. The report says that IS related terror cells have been given instructions to identify and slaughter American military personnel by locating them via social media networks: A law enforcement bulletin obtained by FoxNews.com warned that Islamic State fighters have increased calls for “lone wolves” to attack U.S. soldiers in America in recent months, citing one tweet that called for jihadists to find service members’ addresses online and then “show up and slaughter them.” … In one example cited in the bulletin, a British jihadist encouraged radicals still living in the West to use Facebook and LinkedIn to find and target soldiers. “You could literally search for soldiers, find their town, photos of them, look for address in Yellowbook or something,” the tweet read. “Then show up and slaughter them.” Apparently, terrorist threats from lone wolves only matter if they are born and raised in the United States. Local sheriffs and Border Patrol officials have been warning of terror threats on the Southern border for quite some time. Reports that individuals from Afghanistan, Iran and other hotbeds of terrorism have been captured crossing into the United States via Mexico have been circulating for quite some time. The United States is still facing a major threat. You might be surprised to learn who agents are catching trying to cross the border from Mexico. The above report was from May of 2010, so “credible threats” of terrorists attempting to use the southern border as an entry point into the U.S. is nothing new. We now have confirmation from a U.S. Congressman who says that four people with suspected ties to terrorism have been apprehended in the United States on our southern border. How is it, then, that DHS and the Obama Administration refuse to admit that a credible threat to America’s security exists? All of this begs the question: What the hell is really going on here? In a remote laboratory two hours from the Indonesian capital, scientists are working on technology to research on the brain. A 47-year-old scientist – Warsito Purwo Taruno – has established the Centre for Tomography Research Laboratory in Alam Sutera. It was set up in 2010. The centre carries out research on the practical application of ECVT, an advanced scanning technology using an electrical signal. The researchers claim to be the first in the world to use four-dimension (4D) brain imaging and chaos encoding methods. Warsito Purwo Taruno explained: “We can record at high speed the brain activity from 32,000 brain pixels simultaneously, and we will document varying levels of activity from different points in our brain. While we get 3D data from the brain itself, we combine that with the differences of brain activity to produce 4D data of the brain.” Indonesian scientists have found that the human brain reacts very differently to various everyday activities, such as sleeping, reading, listening to music and doing homework. Now they are investigating technology that may allow digital communication between human brains, such as a wireless helmet device. “A person can wear a brain scanner helmet that can read his or her brain. The helmet will upload the digital data from the brain to a cloud server using the internet. Then this data will be downloaded by a helmet worn by another person and sent to the receiver’s brain. This brain scanner will make communication between human brain, computer and another human brain very possible in the future,” predicts Purwo Taruno. Police said he walked into the front office and attacked one of the first people he encountered, Colleen Hufford, 54. He severed her head with a knife and then attacked Traci Johnson, 43. Johnson is in stable condition at a nearby hospital for treatment of "numerous wounds," according to police. Alton Alexander Nolen appears in a mug shot from a 2010 arrest in Logan County, Oklahoma.Mark Vaughan, the company CEO and a reserve deputy with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, confronted and twice shot Nolen, authorities said. Nolen was put on probation, KOKI reported. In 2010, a state trooper stopped Nolen for an expired tag and discovered he had outstanding warrants, KOKI reported. The trooper, Betsy Randolph, told CNN on Saturday that Nolen started struggling after she put a handcuff on one wrist. Nolen ran and was arrested after a 12-hour manhunt. Running from October 4-19, the show is expected to attract more than 1.2 milllion visitors. The new MINI hatchback – named the MINI 5 door – boasts many of the hallmarks of the famed British icon but with two additional doors. It is the first time in the brand’s 55-year history that it’s boasted a 5-door model in its hatchback range. Jim Holder, Editor of What Car? Magazine thinks not all mini fans will be happy with this model: “The new five-door MINI is certainly controversial simply because it’s no longer a small car and many enthusiasts believe MINI should be a small car. But what it’s doing is taking the brand into new territory, it’s opening up new markets with growing families and it really should help sell more cars for them.” The Citroen Divine DS has no familiar Citroen logo on the front, just a futuristic-looking ‘DS’. It is the result of collaboration with a host of companies, including fashion jewellers Swarovski and French embroidery house Maison Lesage. Citroen says the end product is a perfect alliance between sophistication and luxury. “I think DS is trying to take on the established idea of premium (=luxury car) which has been set by the German brands. “It’s trying to do it in a particularly French way, so you’re looking at extremely over-styled, perhaps a slightly more luxurious take on what we’ve become used to and I think any variety is good for the industry,” said Holder. According to Jaguar, its new XE will boast highly competitive fuel economy, emissions, insurance ratings, service intervals and residuals values. Its 35,000 euro price tag is thought to be an attractive proposition considering the XE is likely to be sold as a company car, an area of the market which demands high fuel economy and low insurance prices. “I think the biggest one will be the Jaguar XE which is almost make-or-break for the company. French car maker – Peugeot – is set to preview its own concept model. Roaring from the shadows, this 5-door vehicle – called ‘Exalt’/a> – is described as ‘a sleek, athletic concept car’. It weighs 1700kg and is fitted with a 50kW electric machine on its rear axle, meaning it can be used for both electric and hybrid driving. Steve Fowler, Editor-in-chief at Auto Express and Car Buyer hopes the Exalt will make it to showrooms. “Peugeot have got a big job to be done to persuade people that they are really rivals for Volkswagen and part of that is showing exciting, upmarket cars – which is what the Exalt certainly is. Whether we actually see something like that on sale, very doubtful, but it’s a good intention to show where Peugeot is going in terms of its brand,” Fowler said. At launch in 2015, the seven-seater Land Rover Discovery Sport ‘/a> will be equipped with a range of four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. It will also boast autonomous emergency breaking technology which helps drivers avoid collisions and a ‘Head Up Display’ which projects key driving data onto the windscreen. Land Rover claims this ‘bold and progressive’ design will go on to define the all-new Discovery Sport family. “The Land Rover Discovery Sport replaces the Land Rover Freelander. It is a bigger car than the previous generation and it is much, much more frugal. It should build on the sales success that they’ve been enjoying in the past few years,” Holder said. At the Detroit Motor Show in January, Toyota showed off the FT-1 ‘/a> concept sports car, a new rear-wheel drive vehicle which apparently stood for ‘Future Toyota’. More than 30-thousand people have been registered as victims of human trafficking across European Union countries in a time span of three years. According to a report by the European Commission, 70 percent of all those trafficked between 2010 and 2013 were victims of sexual exploitation, among them one thousand children. Two-thirds were EU citizens while Nigerians and Chinese comprised the main non-EU group. The EU Home Affairs Commissioner, Cecilia Malmstroem, says the phenomenon is the slave trade of modern times. Victims are usually from underdeveloped countries who illegally migrate in search of a better life. In many cases, they're forced by traffickers to do physically demanding jobs for little wages or work as prostitutes. Voters in Brazil have re-elected left-leaning President Dilma Rousseff and her Workers Party(PT), giving her a narrow 51 percent victory. Speaking to her supporters after acknowledging she had won she said her priority in her second term would be political reform along with fiscal discipline. Rousseff has been in power since 2010 and is popular with poor Brazilians because of her government’s welfare policies. But both candidates in Sunday’s run-off had made economic growth central to their election campaigns. In the tightest of contests her rival centrist candidate Aecio Neves of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) took just over 48 percent of the vote. The former state governor’s support base appears to have been among the more wealthy and middle class Brazilians who liked his pledge to put the economy back on track after four years of low growth. The election came after weeks of intensive campaigning marked by aggressive accusations on both sides. Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff, who won a second term in power by a narrow margin in Sunday’s election runoff, faces the tough task of controlling high inflation, attracting investment and reviving an economy in its fourth year of muted growth. Brazil’s stock market and currency experienced losses on Monday as most expect much of the same over the next four years. Political analyst Sonia Fleury said, “the government faced very diverse challenges, including an economic crisis in which the country stopped growing. But it was able to contain unemployment, which was one of Rousseff’s main concerns. She managed to communicate well to the electorate that while the whole world is in crisis, Brazil is handling the crisis well, holding on to jobs and raising the minimum wage. That’s why she won, because she was able to prove she could deal with the crisis.” Rousseff has pledged to work with political adversaries and business leaders alike in order to achieve her goals. However, critics of Rousseff have said they are unsure whether she is committed enough to fiscal discipline to take on politically difficult tax and pension reforms. After a 14-day journey from Vladivostok the Russian capital, the mammoth was placed in a specially-built cryogenic chamber at a temperature of -18°C (-0.4°F). The chamber has windows which allow passers-by to see the beast as part of an exhibition called 'Mammoth Yuka is an Ambassador of Peace'. The mammoth was found in 2010 on the shores of the Laptev Sea in Yakutia, from where it got the name 'Yuka'. It is the first specimen to be found with its carcass completely preserved.
