Philadelphia, PA - On October 28, 2015, at 5:12 pm, the suspect, an unknown black male, entered the Family dollar store located at 2649 Germantown Avenue, retrieved a hammer from one of the shelves and approached an employee, a 19 year-old female, demanding money from the cash register. When the employee she could not open the register without a transaction, the suspect struck her in the arm with the hammer then grabbing the cash register throwing it on the ground. A second employee, a 29 year-old male, went to the front of the store and confronted the suspect complying with the suspects demands opening the cash register and giving the suspect the money. After taking an unknown amount of money from the register draw the suspect fled. The employee suffered a minor bruise to her left. Suspect Description: Black male, 28-35 years-of-age, 5’6"-5’7", 150lbs, thin build, beard, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.
