Gwadar Port is located at the apex of the Arabian Sea and at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, approximately 460 km (290 mi) west of Karachi, 75 km (47 mi) east of Pakistan's border with Iran and 380 km (240 mi) km northeast of the nearest point in Oman across the Arabian Sea. It is situated on the eastern bay of a natural hammerhead-shaped Peninsula protruding into the Arabian Sea from the coastline. Gwadar Port is situated near the strategic Strait of Hormuz and its busy trading and oil shipping lanes. The surrounding region is home to around two-thirds of the world's oil reserves. It is also the nearest warm-water seaport to the landlocked, but energy rich, Central Asian Republics and landlocked Afghanistan. Less

The large cargo ship which went adrift last week in the Bay of Biscay has been successfully towed into the Spanish port of Bilbao. The Modern Express was brought in unceremoniously where it was docked with the assistance of three tug boats. It was a spectacle which brought out the tourists. #breakingnews #modernexpress #vessel from #Santurtzi #Bilbao #Port pic.twitter.com/1ysUu1IhoT— Natxo Rodriguez (@Natxillo) February 3, 2016 The 164-metre vessel had been badly listing in rough seas after its cargo of wood and machinery is thought to have shifted. Its 22 crew members were evacuated by helicopter but it had been feared it would run aground and spill its 300 tonnes of fuel, presenting a potential environment risk to the French coast. Specialists at Bilbao port who view the challenge of righting the ship as welcome employment, expect the Modern Express to attract plenty of interest from maritime enthusiasts In 2002, the Prestige oil tanker sank off the coast of northern Spain, spilling 50,000 tonnes of oil and polluting thousands of miles of coast. Gilgit, Sep 2: China is expanding its presence in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Balochistan with the help of governments in Pakistan - be it dictators or elected regimes – who have ignored interests of the local people. The ruling PML (N) government has hailed the relationship with China as being “higher than the Himalayas and sweeter than honey”. During his visit to China in July 2013, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif signed many agreements including an $18 billion economic corridor from Xinjinag on China’s western border to the Gwadar port in Balochistan. Sharif also called for an early completion of repair work on the Karakoram Highway, which runs from Xinjiang through Azad Kashmir. Experts say this is of economic and strategic interest to China and will not benefit the people of Pakistan or Azad Kashmir. Less

They condemned the conditions as “a disgrace to a rich nation” and called on the government to act. .BCazeneuve : “aux 225 gendarmes et 440 CRS présents aujourd’hui, s’ajouteront 300 gendarmes et 160 CRS opérationnels dès demain“— Ministère Intérieur (Place_Beauvau) October 21, 2015 6000 refugees and migrants from countries like Iraq, Sudan and Eritrea are living in the open in a makeshift camp with limited access to food, water and adequate shelter. Cazeneuve said that 13 million euros has been invested in an on-site welcome centre and gave a commitment that housing would be provided for vulnerable women and children. He announced new measures to house those living at the camp. Sending out the signal that the Franco-British border would not be monitored and that crossing to the UK would be possible or easy would immediately lead to a massive and uncontrollable influx of migrants.” Less
