Same with the controller. n**For ease to fly the drone i give it 5/5. It is truely easy to fly, my friends even picked it up and were professional pilots after 10 minutes. n**For price point, which currently it retails at 135$ from Holy Stone. I give it 3/5. They could make the price go down little more. I think it should retail around 80$. 135 is too much for a begginers drone. n**If you are trying to get this for someone as a gift, it is a 5/5 gift. Put these together, and T-Motion Theater had an unlikely, yet absolutely remarkable fly fishing video opportunity. Carp, unlike trout or steelhead or bonefish or any for that matter, feed in a frenzy known to some anglers as the “Hour of Power”. This is when schools of carp rise to the surface in fierce unison, their big mouths breaking the surface and “hoovering” up bugs in a linear path on the top of the frothy, shallow water. Here's a little success story of the power of the Blender Network.nThe Blender Network is a place for Blender professionals, freelancers, studios, developers to market their services, as well as the place to go for clients who need professional Blender power and support.nRecently I was contacted by Francesco Siddi, who runs the website and manages requests. He forwarded me a request by a client, Logan Gilpin, who needed a special tracking service. nBasically he needed equirectangular stabilization.nHe is taking footage with several cameras mounted on a quadrocopter which he then stitches together with an app called VideoStitch (http://www.video-stitch.com). The resulting 10k footage is crisp and clear, however quite shaky, due to movements and vibrations of the copter.nWhat he wanted is to stabilize it so that he can map the stable footage onto a sphere, put a virtual camera inside of it so that he can have all control over the viewing angle and focus if the entire sequence.nSince he didn't find any other solution he wanted to do it in Blender, but needed support with that.nnSo I tried several things. Tracking was not an issue at all. Getting a correct equirectangular stabilization was a bit more tricky though. I tried to use a setup of different constraints to stabilize it, but I was missing an important thing, which is the correct mapping of the equirectangular coordinates.nSo I decided to reach out for help myself. I asked Dalai Felinto, who is also part of the Blender Network and who has worked a lot with equirectangular mappings and used the Blender Game Engine for dome projections. And he was pretty confident that he could solve the problem. But he said that it might be the easiest to write an add-on for that. Just 1 day later he presented me a great solution that works great and is easy to use.nThanks to the flexible Interface of Blender it was easy to implement the functions into the UI of the Tracking Module of Blender.nSo it works like this:nPut your footage into the Movie Clip Editor and track 2 points on the horizon. nMark the points as Focus and Target. Then click the button to create the stabilized camera. If you open the rendered viewport now you can see the stabilized footage. nJust render out the sequence and you can then use it as a stabilized background in another scene or for whatever you like.nSo thanks to the Blender Network and Dalai's help I could prepare a tutorial and workflow guideline for the client so that he can now finish is project with Blender. But the summer of 2015 I made some plans to go find cooler water. I was invited back to one of my favorite places on earth, to meet a couple of friends capturing the hopper hatch together in full swing. The smoke was thick from summer wildfires in the Rockies, and the conditions were tough to film in. But the fish were ready and eager to take a fly each time I set up my position with the camera, and the anglers were successful most every cast. Spring creeks are an angler’s (and camera operator’s) dream… if you have the patience. These two friends had a blast fishing the Spring Creek magic. It was certainly one of the highlights of my summer! When life offers you the chance to go outside, have some fun and enjoy the river with a friend, you better do it! I was lucky enough to capture it on film. The Yamsi Ranch is a third-generation working cattle ranch located at the headwaters of the Williamson River near Chiloquin, Oregon. John Hyde works on the family owned cattle ranch, and he guides anglers on the brook and rainbow trout-filled headwaters of the Williamson River. This video captures Hyde’s unique lifestyle here, off the grid and running on solar power and personal generators. This area is one of the most beautiful and special places I’ve been able to film, and I was lucky to catch a brilliant sunset that quickly became one of many highlights of my trip.
