TV9 News: Hassan: Nursing Students Protest Against Principal for Lack of Basic Facilities in College......., HASSAN: Over 35 students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes of the Swami Vivekananda School of Nursing, under the banner of the Students' Federation of India (SFI), protested against the lack of infrastructure and clinical facilities at the college here on Monday. SFI district president Pruthvi MG and Central Executive Committee member Usha MG told presspersons that the college, which started functioning last year, did not have basic infrastructure such as classrooms. Even second-year students did not know how to give an injection, they said. Ms. Usha said that the institution was currently conducting classes in wards of Hoysala Hospital. There were no separate rooms for the principal or the teaching staff, she said. The hostel did not have a warden or a watchman, he said. The SFI demanded that these students, for whom the Social Welfare Department had paid the fees, should be allotted colleges which had better facilities.
