A new federal lawsuit accuses Harrah's Casino of a pattern of excessive force by security guards, A New Jersey woman says she was brutally beaten by security guards at Harrah's in Atlantic City two years ago. She claims it was all caught on camera. Amy Walsh's suit is the latest in a pattern of similar claims filed against the security team at Harrah's Casion. Walsh, a 26 year old nurse, says a minor seating issue with a group of women became a major problem. Walsh said in a press conference on Wednesday that the incident started when she asked to speak with a manager about being presented with a table for 5, instead of a table for 6 as requested in her booking. "The situation escalated. The next thing I knew I was being dragged. Without my shoes through the casino, cutting up my feet.", said Walsh however, criminal charges against her were dropped. A spokesperson for Harrahs said; "We take the take the safety and security of all of our guests and employees very seriously. Our security personnel are trained to use the least amount of force required to manage any particular incident while ensuring they take the steps necessary to protect guests, employees and themselves"   Less

Atypical news story - A Seattle woman is accused of raping her neighbor as he slept after a party. The victim shoved the 240-pound woman, later identified as 26-year-old Chantae Gilman, off of him when he woke up to her having sex with him, according to the Seattle P-I. She apparently broke into the 31-year-old's apartment on June 16, 2013 after a birthday party. It wasn’t until recently that a sample of DNA taken from the victim was analyzed. Gilman was linked to the crime, but she is apparently undergoing drug treatment, a neighbor told KOMO-TV. A Facebook page that appears to belong to Gilman frequently notes her sporadic sobriety. "I've got 2 months pregnant and I'm 31 weeks pregnant," Gilman apparently wrote on Aug. 5. An arrest warrant was issued for Gilman, a mother of four other children who is reportedly pregnant with another child. Court documents show Gilman held the victim down during the alleged rape and told him to be quiet. He managed to push her out of his west Seattle apartment. He then described Gilman as “a drug user in the area.” In the past, Gilman had been treated for mental health issues and drug abuse. She's also pleaded guilty in 2006 and 2008 to criminal charges, court records show. She reportedly suffers from bipolar disorder and another mental illness, the TV station reported. During an undated interview, Gilman reportedly told investigators she didn’t remember having sex with the man or being at his home, the P-I wrote. A man tried to rape a woman in a Stuyvesant Town elevator early Friday morning and then hid in a tree after fleeing, a police spokeswoman said. The suspect followed the 20-year-old victim into her building’s elevator at 4 a.m. on Oct. 17 and attacked her, according to the NYPD. The woman screamed and struggled with the man, and he fled. Surveillance video shows the man running out the building's front door. He then climbed a tree near the apartment complex and hid there, a police spokeswoman said. He was caught again on surveillance video sometime later as he climbed down the tree and ran away, the spokeswoman said. It was not immediately clear how long the suspect was hiding in the tree. The woman was treated at Beth Israel Hospital, the spokeswoman added. Update Juan Scott, a 26-year-old East Village resident, followed a woman into her building’s elevator and attacked her at about 4 a.m. on Oct. 17, police said. Scott was charged with attempted rape. Police could not say where or how Scott was found, but noted that he was being investigated for other crimes as well. Scott lives just a block away from Stuy Town, on East 13th Street, police said. Later Monday, Scott was charged with a second rape attempt that happened on East 11th Street on June 3, police said. A woman was robbed while sitting in her car by several masked suspects. On Oct. 29 at around 12:15 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers were dispatched to 1302 N. Meridian St. on a report of a strong-arm robbery. The victim reported being robbed by five suspects while sitting in her vehicle on the parking lot of the Hoosier Lottery office on the southwest corner of West 13th and North Meridian streets. The victim said that a black female in a camo jacket and painted facemask grabbed the victim by the hair and threw her to the ground outside of her van. The female suspect with a mask, pink and gray hoodie and teal pants took the victim’s purse and cell phone. Before the woman was robbed in front of the Hoosier Lottery, the same group of what appears to be masked teenagers allegedly smashed out the window of a moving car. The thugs approach at around :30 At around 2:10, the victim tells the group their masks are creepy, asks where they got them. The group then assaults, robs her, and smashes her window out. The shocking moment an Israeli woman was killed in a stabbing attack in the West Bank was captured on camera. Dalia Lamkus, 25, was fatally wounded by Mahar al-Hashmalud, an Arab-Palestinian from the flashpoint West Bank city of Hebron, near the settlement of Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion. Another two people were injured - one seriously and the other lightly in the attack, the second on Israeli citizens in the same day. CCTV camera footage shows al-Hashmalud, 30, driving his car at high speed into people waiting at a bus stop, knocking over at least one - believed to be Lamkus. The attacker then leaves his car out of the frame and runs back to the woman who is lying injured on the pavement. He stands over her and apparently stabs multiple times her and a passer-by who was trying to help. Seconds later, he charges another driver who pulled his car on to the other side of the road and a fight erupts. Finally, a security guard arrives and shoots the attacker, who flees as the officer chases him down the street. Al-Hashmalud was hit several times at the chest and was taken to a hospital in serious conditions. The incident happened just about 100 meters away from where three Jewish teenagers killed by Palestinian radicals were kidnapped in July. The murders were followed by the retaliatory killing of a Palestinian boy, who was burned alive. Israel and the Palestinian territories have experienced almost daily episodes of unrest and violence ever since. Earlier today, an Israeli soldier was stabbed and seriously wounded outside a train station in Tel Aviv. A third attempted stabbing attack took place in Jerusalem just minutes after the murder in Alon Shvut. An Arab-Israeli attempted to stab a security guard on the Light Rail in Jerusalem but was caught and arrested.   Less
