RÉSISTANCES Retour ligne automatique ET IMPASSES Le propos de cette exposition LUCKY STRIKE tourne autour de l’idée du travail, de ce travail emploi qui devient chaque jour plus rare sur le marché. Réelle ou pas, la crise sans fin que nous subissons l’a déjà prouvé : un nouveau système s’est mis en place pour abolir massivement le travail et nos emplois du temps correspondent de moins en moins au temps de l’emploi. Jean Baudrillard avait posé dès 1985 les termes de cette mutation dans son ouvrage Le miroir de la production : "La pensée critique du mode de production ne touche pas au principe de la production. Tous les concepts qui s’y articulent ne décrivent que la généalogie, dialectique et historique, des contenus de production, et laissent intact la production comme forme." Tandis que nombre d’approches critiques du mode de production capitaliste continuent d’idéaliser l’idée même de production, quelques artistes ont choisi d’interroger et le principe et la forme production. Metzger fut l’un des premiers à militer en faveur de "la grève de l’art" en décidant de cesser de produire des pièces trois ans durant (1977-1980) ou de résister à leur marchandisation. Plus près de nous, le collectif Claire Fontaine invite à la Grève Humaine (ininterrompue) en proposant à tout un chacun d’opposer à la philosophie généralisée du management la présence matérielle de la potentialité : "Partout où elle a lieu la grève humaine déclare la fin de la fiction criminelle de l’équivalence entre l’argent et le temps, l’argent et l’espace, l’argent et la nourriture, l’argent et les corps."
