Heavy security surrounds Cairo's National Police Academy complex, where the incitement trial for ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is set to resume on Wednesday. Morsi, alongside 14 Muslim Brotherhood figures, is accused of inciting violence which resulted in the death of protesters outside the presidential palace during clashes in December 2012. A helicopter reportedly carrying some of the defendants arrived at the National Police Academy complex in Cairo on Wednesday morning. According to state media, Morsi was set to be airlifted also but his flight was delayed owing to bad weather conditions. He is currently in a jail near Alexandria. Violent protests continued in Burgos on Sunday evening, with demonstrators taking to the streets to vent their frustration at the council's decision to reduce the size of a road by half, and remove a significant number of parking spaces. Angry demonstrators marched through the city's streets, dismantling barricades and disrupting contraction work by throwing concrete blocks. The window of one Santander bank was smashed to pieces during the riots. So far 40 protesters have been arrested and 11 police officers have been injured. Barack Obama's specially-designed bicycle, BikeOne, was unveiled to the world in Santiago on Saturday. Designed by Chilean bicycle company, Oxford, the energy-saving two-wheel ride boasts useful design features essential to any world leader including bullet-proof tyres, LED lights; a smartphone charger powered by pedalling; storage space for a nuclear briefcase; and organic chains that never need to be oiled. BikeOne will be sent to the White House for Obama's personal use following the exhibition. Oxford Chile's marketing manager, Alberto Araya, is hopeful that Obama will make regular use of their creation while out in Washington DC, to "encourage people into using bicycles and to leave behind other means of transport which pollute, generate stress and are damaging to health." Hundreds of thousands of Hindu devotees, curious locals and foreign tourists flocked to the limestone Batu Caves just outside Kuala Lumpur, Friday, to participate in the Thaipusam Festival. Even Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak attended the festival as Hindus showed their devotion to the son of Shiva and the Hindu god of war, Murugan, by piercing their skin, tongue, and cheeks with large needles, swords, poles, and tridents. The observance of the strict rituals and prayers stems from the Hindu belief that pain and endurance will cleanse participants of their sins. People are put into a trance-like state before having steel spears and other sharp objects stabbed through their tongues and cheeks. Others have hooks stuck into their backs so that heavy wooden and metal objects called Kavadis, a symbol that signifies burden, can be attached. They then go on to carry the Kadavis up the 272 stairs to a temple within the caves. Tens of thousands of protesters armed with sticks, flares and Molotov cocktails clashed with security forces in Kiev on Sunday, with protesters setting fire to the ticket booth at local football team Dynamo Kyiv's iconic Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex. Fires also raged close to the stadium, including a bus set alight by the entrance. The violence in Kiev comes follow a number of bills signed by Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych last week, which critics argue limit people's right to protest. These include the banning of helmets and gas masks during protests, legislation that was defied by some of the protesters on Sunday. As Ukraine's most popular and successful club, Dynamo Kyiv's stadium resides in close proximity to the Ukrainian parliament as well as other important buildings, including the Central Bank of Ukraine and the National Art Museum of Ukraine. As dawn broke on Wednesday morning, Kiev's around 100 police officers advanced against anti-government barricades. As they reached the protest lines, stun grenades and tear gas were fired as protesters lobbed molotov cocktails at the police, along with fireworks and stones. One police officer was injured as a molotov cocktail exploded upon him. The police advance towards the protesters came as orthodox priests, who had stayed overnight between the lines of police and protesters, left the scene. President Dilma Rousseff inaugurated the first of Brazil's newly-built stadia set to open this year for the World Cup, the Arena das Dunas in Natal, Brazil on Wednesday. The six stadium projects missed FIFA's original deadline of Dec 31 2013. Rousseff is scheduled to meet FIFA president Sepp Blatter on Thursday following an ultimatum issued by FIFA secretary-general Jerome Valcke. Valcke has demanded significant progress be made in developing Arena da Baixada in Curitiba in the next four weeks, otherwise it faces exclusion from the tournament. With the first match of the 2014 World Cup scheduled for June 12 when hosts Brazil play Croatia, the stadium is one of six to be considered behind schedule. Protesters against cuts to public services also gathered outside the stadium, while riot police secured the area. Fire continued to rage in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev on Thursday morning, with anti-government protesters firing molotov cocktails from home-made slingshots and fireworks at security forces. The protesters also continued to add to barricades constructed from paving stones, wooden boards and ice, while building stacks of burning tyres to ward off police raids. The US issued travel sanctions against Ukrainian officials accused of ordering violence against protesters in November and December on Wednesday. They have also warned of further action to come. Ruptly's drone flew over Kiev on Friday as anti-government protesters remained on the streets, behind barricades, fortifying themselves from the police. A new barricade was built on Instytutska Street near Independence Square overnight, roughly 100 metres from the pre-existing barricades. During the night, protesters also seized the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food. Protesters descended upon of St. Louis Tuesday, as agricultural company Monsanto held its annual shareholders' meeting. Police arrested a handful of protesters blocking the entrance to the meeting, including a man dressed as a rat who was dancing atop a Monsanto sign. They also towed away five cars. The protest drew between 30 and 40 people, some of whom chained themselves to vehicles and voiced their opposition to Monsanto's development of genetically modified seeds. The company is the largest biotech seed producer in the world. At the meeting, a resolution which would have required Monsanto to work with the Food and Drug Administration to label genetically modified foods received only four percent support from shareholders. Four nude demonstrators, including one taken to the ground by police, were arrested Saturday at a demonstration against San Francisco's year-old ban on public nudity. Bearing signs such as "My bush doesn't steal elections", about a dozen activists in various states of undress gathered in the California city's Castro District. Police warned the demonstrators about the nudity ban, before taking some into custody five minutes later. Police at the scene would not answer media questions on the exact charges, and referred questions to the city's public information office, which said details would not be available until Monday.
