What is zero? How did it come about? Hannah Fry tells the story of how zero went from nothing to something.nnOnce upon a time, zero wasn’t really a number. Its journey to the fully fledged number we know and love today was a meandering one. Today, zero is both a placeholder, and tool, within our number system signifying an absence of a value, and as a number in its own right. nnBut it wasn’t always seen as that, and it still doesn’t act quite like other numbers. Can you divide by zero, for example? Hannah Fry explains how zero came about, from its origins in ancient civilisations, through the resistance it faced from the Roman numeral system, to being the cornerstone of calculus.nnAnimated by Andrew Khosravani - https://vimeo.com/andykhosravani Less

When Tobi Shinobi and Ron Timehin started using photo sharing app, Instagram in 2012, they couldn't have imagined it would completely reshape their lives. They adopted new technologies at the right time, and worked hard at developing their individual accounts. Fast forward to today and they have swapped their day jobs as a lawyer and a touring musician for their new shared passion as photographers. They are favourites in the London space on Instagram, boasting thousands of followers and millions of likes. Not only has their creative partnership flourished, so too has their success online and offline. nnTheir message to others is simple: anyone can take photos.nn-nnTobi Shinobi: https://www.instagram.com/tobishinobi/nRon Timehin: https://www.instagram.com/rontimehin/nn-nnWe are currently doing the film festival circuit.nExpected Release: November 2016nnDirected By: Oliver David Lister nProduced By: Really Bright Media Less

Watch American Horror Story pay tribute to 80 years of cinematic history. What I love about Ryan Murphy & Brad Falchuk is that they wear their influences on their sleeves. http://studiomeddle.com/shop/fragilennEnglish subtitle available.nnFRAGILE is a design project that centres on process, materials, inspiration and experimentation.nBeing inspired by a material that support’s of their daily activities, Maya and Denis discover the bubble wrap as main element for experimenting with in a new process that through a process of trial and error bore the definition and design of their new concept.nnFRAGILE is a transparent tale. The glass – in its liquid stage – is flexible, easy to shape, like a bubble wrap cover that is usually used to protect the fragility: a bubble wrap made by glass with a solid shape becomes fragile for one time only.nnAn irrepressible desire to play with this bubble canvas has driven Maya and Denis to conceive a design object that could work like a funny interpretation of this concept.nnThe final result is an incredible verisimilitude, wherever the art is placed it invites the viewer to touch and explore with their own hands, a concrete physical interaction that is unusual due to the fragile nature of the glass, a material which creates an detached contemplation.
