He stated that in many cases European intelligence agencies accessed phone records and passed them on to the NSA. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the intelligence agencies of France and Spain carried out electronic spying operations outside their own borders and then passed the information to the US. The cars are due to undergo restoration work following a change in ownership. Pop Art artist Peter Max sold them to Adam Heller, who aims to sell the vehicles at auction following their restoration. The collection features one Corvette produced in each year between 1953 and 1989, including a Corvette Stingray New owner of the collection, Adam Heller, stated that the dust accumulated on the cars had worked to "protect" the vehicles. He added that he had found the cars' paint to be in "pristine condition." The collection has an interesting back story. Peter Max acquired it when Dennis Amodeo, a carpenter from Long Island, agreed to sell him the vehicles after he had won them in a contest held by the VH1 channel in 1989. Max had wanted to use the cars in a psychedelic art project, but later abandoned the scheme. Elnur Huseynov who is representing Azerbaijan also has a song with a message. “I have a message in my song and the message is: don’t give up whatever you face in in your life, you should not give up. Susana Jamaladinova, or Jamala’s song includes lines about the mass deportation of Tatars by Stalin in the 1944. However it steers clear of the illegal and continuing 2014 occupation of Crimea, the Tatar’s homeland within Ukraine, by Russian armed forces. “I am so tired and so happy. I believe I can tell Europe about Ukrainian things it didn’t know,” said Jamala after winning Ukraine’s domestic contest. Eurovision songs are supposed to avoid politics and religion, but scandalous lyrics do slip through. Georgia’s 2009 entry was deemed too insulting by hosts Russia to President Vladimir Putin. Georgia stormed out of the event. Other are just controversial, period. Conchita’s 2014 win for Austria was proof of the “terminal decadence of the West” according to Moscow, the bearded lady look getting under the skins of many around Europe and elsewhere. Boogie sang an anti-war song for Hungary last year, but the Israelis protested against a reference to Gaza being included in the song. Jamala’s judges said her song won on its qualities. “This song has an idea, this idea will go to Europe. We have to count on who is taking the idea. It does matter to me who delivers the idea. It is very important for Ukraine, and millions feel that. I gave Jamala the highest mark,” said Eurovision 2004 winner Ruslana.
