Protein is very proud to present Chi Raq, a film by London-born photographer/filmmaker Will Robson- Scott.nThe first in a series of exclusive commissions for Protein TV, Chi Raq is an intimate video portrait of life in South and West Chicago. nnFor the past decade, Chicago has been enduring a violence epidemic, with a death toll in the thousands and casualties mirroring the losses experienced by the US army in Iraq war over the same period. Allowing its subjects to take centre stage and tell their stories in their own words, Robson-Scottʼs film is unflinchingly honest in its depiction of life on the streets of one of the most dangerous cities in America.nnThe full film will be released on Protein TV on 13th August 2013: http://prote.in/tvnnFilm by Will Robson-ScottnEdited by Luca CampanalenPresented by ProteinnMusic by Lee RoseverenExecutive Producer William RowenProducer Bridie WoodwardnSupport from Plus Less

25 TO LIFE is a work-in-progress feature documentary about a young man who kept his HIV status a secret for over twenty-five years, since he was two years old. Now he seeks redemption from his promiscuous past, and embarks on a new phase of life with his wife who is HIV negative. 25 TO LIFE is brutally honest, comprehensive film that takes a critical lens to our main character, his family, their decisions, the impact of those decisions on surrounding lives. 25 TO LIFE shows how one man's AIDS diagnosis can affect an entire family and community.nnDirected By Mike BrownnProduced By Mike Brown, Yvonne M. I developed voice / sound generated Art. It reacts to the human voice. It reacts to sounds. It creates very abrupt graphic animated visuals. What is magical about it, is the size it holds in a space. The environment lives and is reactive to what is going on. It is a way of visualizing sound and the human voice. nnI danced in front of the projection as a Performing Art piece.nnI made the music for this video which will feature on my upcoming instrumental album.nnThe typographic animation of the title SOUND FOREST at the beginning of the video was created by me yelling. My voice created the graphics.nn For the Performing Art, I played music to generate the visuals. nnMy objectives with Voice Generated Graphics Interactive Projection Art:n– Performance Artn– Live Musical / Theatrical Performancesn– Festivalsn– Clubs / Tasteful Partiesn– Interactive Roomsn– Galleriesn– Museumsn– Public Spacesn– Urban Developmentn– Retailn– Eventsn– Conventionsn– Anywhere where humans interact nnI create an infinite amount of composition by just speaking. The Future is Now.nRemember the days of creating vector art using a software? Well those days are over when you start creating graphics with your voice. nnI want to create interactive installations or displayed on huge led screens for Music Festivals and Clubs with a cutting-edge. If you know anyone who may be interested, please send them this link and my portfolio page: willpowerstudios.com/portfolio nnIt was created at NUMA in Paris, a co-working startup space. They have an amazing 3 projector setup, for presentation and conferences. Working with Hackerloop made it possible for me to create my art utilizing their space. It made me so happy, thankful, and grateful. nnThis video was directed + shot on an iPhone + edited by WILLPOWER STUDIOS nnWitness the process here: http://willpowerstudios.com/1191/sound-barsnnAll work by WILLPOWER STUDIOS - www.WillpowerStudios Less

I created 2 Interactive Installations + 2 Projection Mappings for our event: nCOLOR WARRIORS. nI collaborated with 8-year-old London on the projection mappings. nOn one of them, I redrew one of this drawings on the wall and mapped it. nFor the other, I used colors from one of his paintings, and blasted them on the Tetrahedron Structure I built. nThis event was created to raise awareness on Autism. nLondon was diagnosed with Autism. nHe is one of the most enlightened being I have ever met. nIt happened at 'Yo Amo 305' Gallery in Miami's Art District. nSponsored by South Florida Ford + Autism Speaks. nThe joy for me was to see children interacting with the art and creating the art with their movements. nIt was magical. nAdults expressing emotions through this experience made me realize that human interaction can be a profound experience. nSpecial thanks to all those who played a part in this amazing co-creation !nn--nnStory behind Artistic Direction:nnThe interactive work came from playing with vido capture in Processing using Daniel Shiffman's files explaining how to video capture with the computer's camera. nI then explored further with my own code and creative process of going back and forth with running different tests. nI got to a place where magic was being created, and I chose 2 different styles of 'digital mirrors' for this interactive installation. nFor the diagnol visuals, I was attracted to that shape and the way they came together in a grid. nFor the bubbly art, I was fascinated by how the circles were bubbling up by the movement of a person. nI am very much into spheres and circles. nThe sphere represents wholeness. nIt is the shape of all planets, cells, atoms, and much more, as far as I am aware of. nI feel very attracted to bubbles and circular forms coming together. nI love that it looks like an living thing by simply moving. nThis is what captures me, the essence of life given through an algorithm. nn--nnFor the projection mapping on paper tetrahedrons, it was my first experience. nI had seeing work by Joanie Lermercier and thought it was an amazing approach. nSo much so that I wanted to try a similar method. nI have been heavily into Tetrahedrons and Sacred Geometry, so the shape felt natural for me to use. nI learned and discovered new amazing things that are leading me towards new journeys... new worlds...
