Curator Dan Brown introduces Icaro Menippus x 2, an exhibition of work by the late Scottish sculptor Paul Carter. The exhibition draws from work which first featured in Cardiff's Chapter Gallery, and the Fruitmarket Gallery, in the early 2000s. Moses' Basket, Daedalus and 13 all explore Carters thoughts and questions about pioneering. nnPaul Carter (1970-2006) studied Sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art and completed his MFA at Glasgow School of Art (1995). His solo exhibitions and projects included: Edge of Darkness, Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh (2003); Icaro Menippus, Chapter, Cardiff (2002, Chapel Barbarossa Deveron Arts Huntly, Aberdeenshire and shows at Embassy, Collective Gallery and the Traveling Gallery, Edinburgh and Transmission Glasgow. His many group exhibitions included.Yugoslav Biennial (2004); Angst, Kunstlerhaus, Dortmund (2002) and Art in The Home, Yamaguchi (2001).
