Oh, and as always...the whole video description awaits your click...nnAbout The Live Broadcasts:nnInspired by fellow Youtuber weasel2htm (http://www.youtube.com/weasel2htm), I picked up a secondhand DJ mixer along with a microphone and set in to doing a live stream on blogTV. Since that time, my "studio" has been improved and enlarged with some ideas that are my own and others that came from many different folks. It is arguable whether or not this had made the broadcast any more enjoyable. After all, the same guy is still hosting it. ;-) The whole of my studio is a testament to what you can do with a few hundred bucks spread between eBay and thrift stores, and some lucky finds from the Curbside Discount store.nnWhen blogTV merged with YouNow, my show was left without a home. It aired on Ustream for a while and now airs primarily on VaughnLive (http://vaughnlive.tv/uxwbill). The show airs whenever I feel like doing it, so only rarely these days is there ever an announcement or formal schedule. Most of the latest shows have been very late at night.nnThough I've never worked in radio, I have been interested in it from pretty much the first time that I knew what a radio was. I used to play as a DJ in front of my dad's stereo when I was a kid. And while there have been some less than totally awesome bumps and drama along the road, it's still an absolute blast to do these live broadcasts when I hit a really good groove and the viewing audience is feeling it too.nnThe show's a train wreck of musical formats focusing mostly on stuff recorded prior to the mid 1990s. Although most of my shows are intended for general audiences, the VaughnLive site is 18+ and they do enforce this. Please plan your visit accordingly.nnDell Dimension 2300 Notes: nnThe Dimension 2300's first video appearance is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXC6HS5E6sEnnAlthough I've never had to put a dime in it, the trashpicked Dell Dimension 2300 that I use to play music has needed a few repairs. The hard drive was found to be bad after I wiped it and the power supply later blew up quite spectacularly. I tried upgrading the RAM to the maximum of 1GB, but the system wasn't reliable, so back to 512MB it went. When the onboard sound lost a channel right before a show, a sound card was installed just to get things going again. I later found a sequin shorting out two contact points on the motherboard. Removing it restored the onboard sound to working order. Most recently, it got an upgrade to the fastest supported processor...a 2.2 GHz Pentium 4 with a 400 MHz front side bus.nnGiven its increasingly characterful behavior and the fact that I've more than gotten my money's worth out of it, I'm retiring the Dimension 2300. It will likely be repurposed for some other random job.nnI was given a couple of Dell OptiPlex GX620 mini tower PCs and one of them will be the replacement music player PC in my studio. Though it's an older PC from a time when Intel's microprocessor products were not the best in the business, I still thought it worthwhile to invest in some upgrades. Even a newer PC would have required many of the same things, and there would have been the purchase price of said PC to further run the bill up. Therefore I feel that the $160 or so I put into this system is money fairly well spent--especially since I'll run it until it is no longer suitable at all for any sort of task or it happens to experience a major failure.nnI'm into value computing in a big way, so to make a long story a little shorter--no, I don't want to hear how this computer is garbage compared to your hundred core, sixteen exabytes of RAM and eight hundred terabytes of disk storage equipped computer with its ten 4K displays. You're missing the point if you think I want that (and if I did, I'd be quite capable of speccing and building a fire breather system).nnOperating system choice remains up in the air for now. Current's Christof Putzel investigates a growing movement in Russia where neo-Nazi groups are brutally attacking immigrants and spreading their hate by posting violent videos online.nnProvoked by shocking, violent videos disseminated on the Internet of people being beaten, Current TV correspondent Christof Putzel and his co-producer/videographer Lauren Cerre traveled to Russia to investigate the rise of a neo-Nazi faction that was inciting ethnic violence.nnThe du Pont Award-winning "From Russia With Hate" documents the socioeconomic factors from which the racism stems. It also gives viewers an inside look at leaders who not only condoned the violence but actually trained people to commit the attacks, some of which were captured on video and used to recruit others.nnWe had to walk a fine line of not wanting to be an outlet for propaganda. It was an incredibly important story that needed to be told, so we went for it,‹ Mr. Putzel said. Anyone with a solid moral grounding can watch this stuff and see it for what it is.nnWhen the borders of the former Soviet Union were opened in the early 1990s, immigrants from surrounding areas of central Asia entered the country in order to find jobs and a better life, shifting the ethnic balance of the population. Racism and discrimination against these immigrants and other foreigners, including students, was fomented by the burgeoning neo-Nazi movement, which in Russia now is estimated to number as many as 70,000 people-half of the world's skinhead population.nnMr. Putzel went to Russia for two weeks in 2007, arriving on April 19, the day before Adolf Hitler's birthday, and a time of year that has become notorious for a spike in racial attacks. The situation is so dangerous that foreign students at Moscow universities are locked down in their dormitories because of fear for their safety during this period.nnIn further exposing the climate of hate that exists, Mr. Putzel spoke with an ultra-right-wing lawmaker, Nikolai Kuryanovich, who has introduced anti-immigrant legislation in Russia's parliament, the Duma, including a failed bill that would take away the citizenship of any Russian woman who marries a foreigner. Simply plug the device (DVR, Blu-Ray, PS3, Xbox 360, or other HDMI device) into the *Transmitter* and then plug your television into *Receiver* and you are ready to go. The set-up is that easy, in fact, it is easier than hooking up a VCR.nn- Quality - The video quality is excellent (true 1080p) with a very minimal delay - less than a second. There is one issue, the audio portion takes about 5-10 seconds to begin (the broadcast is just silent... but it is not out-of-phase). This an be an issue if you are watching broadcast tv- although a DVR can solve part of that problem (it mainly would be an issue if you switching between shows). This delay should not be a noticeable problem with a Blu-ray, PS3, or other device where immediate audio is not needed. Admittedly, it would be better if the HDMI splitter was integrated into the Nyrius HDMI directly, but external splitters are relatively inexpensive.nn- Another possibility is with use of Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Cable, 6 feet you have the ability to connect your Mac directly into your television. This gives you the ability to watch Hulu, NBC, ABC, ESPN, and/or a Monsoon Multimedia 010410VL TV Tuner/Receiver on your television using only your computer (Read - you can possibly eliminate your cable bill).nnFinal Verdict - The Nyrius NAVS500 offers you significant flexibility with you home entertainment center. When asked if the guilt and shame is related to related to the abortions or the wild behavior that lead to them, Carlin was emphatic. If you are a women living in Texas, and a growing number of states, access to this basis, simple and safe procedure has been severely restricted with the passage of Hundreds of new laws in the last several years that strip a women's right to privacy, limit access to abortion and shame women into thinking that their choice about what to do with their bodies is wrong. nnnIt's been over 40 years since the Supreme Court decided, in Roe V Wade, that women had a constitutional right to abortion. The legal argument was based around the concept that women had a right to privacy under the due process clause of the 14th Amendment, and that right extended to their right to have an abortion. Perhaps no time in the 40 years since Roe v Wade have female reproductive rights been so under attack. Do you know what it is FitLifer?nnYou guessed right! People are searching for "How to Love" all over the world. Here in the United States, it's one of the most searched phrases. I certainly don't have it all figured out, but on this week's Mindset Monday, I want to respond to this top search. I recently read this book called the "5 Love Languages" and I want to share with you 3 of the 5 tools this book teaches.nnAnd I'm hoping that you will use these 3 tools to love selflessly.nnTool 1 - Words of AffirmationnnTool 2 - Physical TouchnnTool 3 - Quality TimennSo let's take a closer look with these 3 tools.nnTool 1 - Words of AffirmationnnGiving people Words of Affirmation means that you send love through using words. When we take the time to genuinely compliment people, it makes people feel loved. What are you saying to the people you love.nnI'm so grateful for you.nnI'm proud of you.nnI'm honored to be a part of your life experience.nnAnother way we can show love is to write a card for someone. A handwritten card is so rare these days. If you love getting handwritten cards, please give this video a big thumbs up! Also, feel free to write me a note. You just might get one back. :)nnTool 2 - Physical TouchnnI love giving and receiving hugs. Another way we can show love to those around us is through physical touch! Physical touch is so critical for our survival. Human beings are made to be embraced. Infants who are touched gently on a regular basis gain weight and grow at better rates than babies who lack this contact. In a work environment, perhaps the appropriate thing to do is give your coworkers a high-five! Give someone a high-five right now! Or is a high five to 80's? Maybe a fist bump? No? How about the rocket ship?nnTool 3 - Quality TimennAnother way to express love to someone is through quality time. Quality time means that you spend time with someone at a coffee shop just having a conversation with them. Put your cell phone on the table. You give them your undivided attention and you listen to them attentively. When was the last time you just listened?nnSo always remember these 3 tools in order to live a life full of gratitude.nnTool 1 - Words of AffirmationnnTool 2 - Physical Touch (hug it out)nnTool 3 - Quality TimennAll of us are born to love and be loved.
