We were sat on in a Brooklyn living room in on a warm spring evening in 2011, when in walked Will Knox. The charming English singer songwriter mesmerized us for a three song set and when we left New York for London, we were convinced that he was lost forever. Lucky for us, Twitter was our saviour. We noticed that Will was in London too, so we exchanged many a tweet and then jumped at the chance to film him at the earliest opportunity. He asked, could he bring his friend and cello player Simon Lewis, and of course, we said yes.nnWe've wanted to use Greenwich foot tunnel ever since we first walked through it and didn't consider any other location for the shoot. We met Will and Simon on a chilly Sunday afternoon, and made our way down the 85 (Will counted) steps to the tunnel, which runs underneath the Thames, connecting Isle of Dogs and Greenwich. The guys played three songs, mesmerizing passers by just as they did us.nnWe made our way above ground, opting for the lift this time and took some time out to light celebratory sparklers. Then we managed to squeeze in one last song with the super talented duo. We were very sad that this shoot had to end, but are very happy that we have these videos to forever treasure.nnThank you Will Knox, thank you Simon Lewis, Secret Sound Shop's ever so special #32. We had been trying to shoot a Secret Sound Shop video with The Parlotones for a few weeks in New York City, but our timings were all out of synch. Luckily for us, an impending UK visit meant that we could get a second chance at a session with the super talented Johannesburg natives.nnWe met Kahn Morbee and Glenn Hodgson at their hotel, but forgetting to brush his teeth, Kahn ran back inside whilst we waited outside with Glenn. We concur that dental hygiene is very important. Walking through Holland Park, we found a beautiful and tranquil Japanese Peace Garden and hung out with some peacocks and a squirrel named Frank. The beautiful leaves and hazy sunshine made for a fantastic back drop to the extraordinary music being produced.nWe thank you The Parlotones, thank you Alicia Yaffe and thank you Frank, for our mesmerizing video #23. Members of team Secret Sound Shop on both sides of the pond have been digging California quintet Milo Greene for quite some time. When they visited London on their first ever UK tour, we snapped at the chance to film a session and scratch a band off of our wish list.nnWhen we went to watch Milo Greene play at St Pancras Old Church just a week before our shoot, our capital city was blanketed with snow and ice. We were incredibly lucky and very excited therefore, to wake up on the morning of the shoot to clear skies and sunshine.nnWe met the guys outside of Soho Square, and decided upon the beautiful gardens as our location. The band set up to the soft bells of nearby Hare Krishnas and after a quick deliberation regarding whether we should walk over and join them, the guys settled into '1957'.nnWe were all freezing cold, so we quickly moved on to record 'Take a Step' when it all got a bit too much for drummer Curtis 'Tron' Marrero, who quickly misplaced the second verse.nnSo here you have our magical #35. Thank you Milo Greene for a lovely (if a little cold) London afternoon. Less

In spring of 2008 Katia, a founding member of Secret Sound Shop was going to school at SCAD. As a super star radio DJ she discovered Bombadil, a four-piece folk pop band from Durham, NC through the new music she received each week. She listened to their album for months, and found them to be a very unique and special band, music like she had never really heard before. nnOn her return to SCAD in the fall, Katia found out that Bombadil were headed to Charleston, South Carolina to perform. It was the day she returned to Georgia for college and she drove the 2 hours with boyfriend Greg (also of Secret Sound Shop fame) and went to go see them at a small little BBQ joint. After the show Katia and Greg talked with the band and mentioned how awesome they were and they were very surprised that they had come all the way to see them. nnWhen in 2012 we had saw that they were coming to NY to perform with other Secret Sound Shop favorite You Won't, Tia immediately contacted them and asked if they were interested. To her surprise and delight they remembered her and she was so thrilled when they agreed to actually hang out and record a session. nnIt was such a pleasure filming them and getting to hang out, really talented group of individuals. Here is our magical #36 video with Bombadil in Central Park!nnP.S. - We really enjoyed our ice cream together! And thank you Bryan for your amazing dancing and I'm very sorry you blistered your feet. It was a very generous sacrifice!! Less

When I (Katia) was going to SCAD I met one of my best friends there. Over the years I came to visit him in his hometown of Leominster, MA and got to meet some of his very good high school friends. One in particular was Kristina Blanchflower who had gone to Emerson College with Joseph Bear. In the next few years when SSS was in full speed I had asked them if they would like to be filmed for this and without hesitating they said yes. This SSS is a little different because we decided to travel to their home in Boston, MA - it definitely gave the videos a more personal quality. n nThese two are definitely a talented bunch and have the ability to play an array of instruments. In 2011 they created original music for a short documentary called 10,000 trees. You can check it out from their record label Old Bay Records.n nThank you two for being so lovely and making our first ever out of town shoot- you gave us the confidence to do more in the future (New York and London, we still love you). Anyway... Here it is - Secret Sound Shop number 37. Less

We walked into the chic lobby of 60 Thompson on a warm fall day to meet with Franco-Moroccan singer Hindi Zahra. We took the elevator to her room, a warm and intimate setting that provided a harsh contrast to the cavernous lobby. We sat down with Hindi for a short chat about her new album and her trip to the States, and she treated us to a beautiful and unforgettable performance of 'Don't Forget'nnTo enjoy beautiful music from a Prix Constantin winner in such an intimate setting is a rare gift, and it is a gift we are very excited to share with you. When we told one of our writers, Ryan, that we were planning a shoot with Bear's Den his reaction said it all: "Shit the bed. I love Bear's Den". As you can probably sense, this is a shoot we were very excited about.nnWe managed to catch the trio the day before they opened for Mumford and Sons at the o2 in London and as if that wasn't lucky enough, the sun came out and shone brightly on the cold Sunday morning as the guys treated us to three songs. We chose the bandstand in Ropemaker's Fields, Limehouse as our location and passers by, joggers and dog walkers stopped and stared as we filmed. Bear's Den even managed to win a new fan in the form of a teeny tiny boy who discovered his love for the banjo.nnWe are really proud and excited to bring you this video and a huge thank you to Bear's Den, our lucky #33. In this tutorial I will show you how to make a secret message with photoshop. ADDITION: I don't know if this will also work with gimp (because gimp is free, so it's more likely for you to have it). if it does, feel free to post that in the comments below. I know i could test that, but i don't feel like that :P. To get the message back simply make the .mp3 a .raw file again. I thought that was pretty obvious.
