Official music video of British new wave pop group Level 42 performing their Top 10 hit "Something About You" from the 1985 album World Machine. My apologies for tilting the video - it was the only way to prevent it from being blocked. :( The audio came from a vinyl rip so the quality is top-notch (HQ audio / HD video). Note this is the album extended version of the song which is longer than the single version the video was originally based on, so I made some minor modifications to the video to cover the entire song. It is most evident at at the guitar solo / break. I hope you like it!nnMusic VideonThe music video for "Something About You" was directed by Stuart Orme and features lead vocalist Mark King as a passenger on a train with the other members of the band. He imagines himself as a dark clown/magician, representing the negative aspects in the relationships of his band-mates with their girlfriends. Actress Cherie Lunghi plays the role of the girlfriend in each of the relationships. During the video it switches from black & white during the train sequences, to color when viewing Mark King's fantasies. It's an enigma as to what his role is in these relationships other than as an observer/agitator. In one unnerving sequence the clown howls at each couple in their respective scenes. At the end of the video we catch a glimpse of the actual clown getting off the train and the girlfriend waiting at the train station for someone. The music video appears in their video album Family of Five, released in 1987. Stuart Orme also directed videos for the Level 42 songs "Lessons in Love" and "Running in the Family", as well as videos for Phil Collins and Genesis.nnChart DatanWorld Machine was Level 42's sixth studio album and was a huge international success. It peaked at #3 on the UK album charts, staying on the chart for 72 weeks, and reaching the top 20 on The Billboard 200 album chart in the U.S. The record featured the singles "Something About You" (the band's only American top 10 hit, peaking at number 7, and a success internationally) and "Leaving Me Now".
